#televisionseriestrackersI am madly in love with three world cities-San Francisco, Rio de Janeiro, and Cape Town. It has been almost 24 years since I left Cape Town the last time. I have been ready to go back several times. I can't do it. I know that once I arrive, I will never be able to leave. Cinemax and a major South African television company came together and produced a great 6-part miniseries called Trackers. It is a well-written and well-acted series about joint US and South African efforts to stop a major bio-terrorist attack during a well-attended sporting event. It was shot in Cape Town. What a treat!!!!!!
You haven't been to San Francisco in a while then. Once great, now just ok, the beautiful nature is bailing out the horrid politics but the trend is down. Leftoids will eventually destroy San Francisco, many people already starting putting their houses on the market.
Huh? How is SF even related to the others, aside from being next to an ocean?
Rio is warm, full of hot women, excellent food, some culture, and hoeing. If one can tolerate some of the random crime, esp in and around Copacabana, this is a true party spot.
Cape Town, while not Rio, is probably South Africa's best city in terms of contained crime (sure, needs improvement but it's certainly better than Jo'burg) and has a bit of that Carnival action, see Long Street, which Rio is know for.
In contrast, SF is the Philadelphia of the Bay Area, full of bums, gangs, thugs, and stupid ppl (overgrown hipsterish yuppies) who play the 'Boston of the west coast' card as if SF actually had a history going back 3 centuries & was some cultural mecca. Instead, almost no one knows anyone else there, outside of work. The universities, unlike in Boston, are mostly in the 'burbs and don't add to the city life. Aside from let's say old Chinatown, many ppl there don't have roots in the area and transplants would rather move back to their home states than retire there.
For Brazil, it's Sao Paulo much more than Rio. Know where the Fevalas are and keep a distance.
For South Africa, it's Johannesburg over Cape Town.
The thing here is that one has to be hyper aware and know where to be at, to be safe in the aforementioned cities.
In contrast, SF is a joke. Seriously, where is the 'culture' in that town? If anything, SF is the metropolitan Tenderloin district, even if the other areas 'look nice' because people are mean-spirited, no one knows anyone else, and the place is full of derelicts.
I mean after having great Bahain food & catching a soccer game, I've fucked gorgeous Brazilians at a Rio Thermas (sauna) and they looked like a medley between Selma Hayek, J Lo, and Vanessa Williams.
