Victim doesn't care, his family will be paid well in wrongful death lawsuit, he knew this when he decided to struggle, resist cooperation, and beat up lawmen. Very disrespectful man, and they totally would have thrown the book at him later including jail time, etc. They knew who he was and could have just scooped him up later vs. killing him. Cops are just generally stupid and like to shoot now ask questions later. I've seen guys almost murder someone, run off into the woods, then sober up and turn themselves in knowing their is no getting away.

A violent criminal flees with a weapon stolen from the police. What if he used it on an 80 year old and killed the person? Or used it to rob someone? Even police who might not have shot him would still have to continue the pursuit.

At the point he fought with police and stole their weapon and pointed it at them, he became an armed violent and dangerous criminal. He deserves the blame, not the police.

This is why everyone should have cameras on their properties recording. It's sad, but your words don't matter anymore in a courtroom. Dash cams are cheap, readily available, and a great idea. I had a recent incident where one of our taxis was stopped at a red light for at least 20 seconds when the taxi was rear ended by a pick up that a screeching to a halt. The cop gave a ticket to the taxi driver for "pulling out in front" of the pickup and causing the accident. Our dash cams have front and rear view, as well as audio, so the recording clearly showed what happened. I had a fun time playing that recording for the judge.

My other question is why is all this shit happening now? All the race shit happened under Obama, but now we're getting a flood of it months before an election? I generally don't do conspiracies, but none of the 3 recent race based cases make any sense. I get everyone has phones and can record, but these 3 just don't add up. And why the fuck would you burn down a Wendy's for a drunk guy that assaulted and stole a weapon from someone? Wouldn't you go in and grab the food to eat or grill up later?

You got a recommendation on brand? I've looked at them before, but never pulled the trigger. Given how fucked up things are, I'm probably just going to grab two for mine and the wife's car. There's no point to not do it. Cheap insurance policy for lying douche bags if you get in an accident or incident.

If you want to spring for commercial grade (forward and rear views, plus audio) try Janus. Others. like Drivecam, require cloud storage and will not sell to the general public.

Best Buy and Walmart has a few brands, like Uniden, and these typically have GPS tracking and 1080p video quality. During the day they work great, but at night the IR video is next to useless when driving in a poorly lit area. If you decide on a consumer grade dash cam, I would get one to face rear and one to face forward.
