Look: the reason for the protests is simple. The video clearly shows a policeman killing a crying pleading black man for eight minutes. I finally watched the whole thing and it made me feel. I felt sad and angry and horrible that this happened. It’s like watching a movie where the bad guy is about to kill an innocent guy and there’s plenty of time to stop him from doing it but nobody ever stops him. The good guys never showed up.
My wife saw this and just cried, she was very affected. It’s hugely emotional to see this sort of video! Many millions of Americans who’ve seen this video are horrified and sad and outraged, and with good reason! The protests come from that place of emotion and hurt and outrage, and they’re perfectly appropriate.

The riots are people without those emotions trying to provoke anarchy and destruction for entirely different goals.

And in some places or the country these two groups have clashed! At the White House, the protestors split and half of them decided to link arms and defend the police from the anarchists and Antifa asshats. They were there to express their sadness and outrage, but couldn’t stomach the barbarians using this occasion to tear down society.

Floyd and Chauvin knew each other for years as they worked at the same dance club as security at the same time. There is nothing in the video indicating Chauvin's action was motivated by racism. His action could have been due to personal conflict or due to both of them being paid to stage an act; Floyd could have died for numerous other reasons (why wasn't his body tested for Covid-19? like so many other bodies are). It is for a jury to find out what really happened in a court of law.

You described the actions of OTHER cops, and also made some characterizations and ASSUMPTIONS about those OTHER cops. Yes, its true that some cops are awful humans, and some of them are racist killers too.

But you did not say anything of any substance specifically about THESE cops, each an individual person. People kill for reasons other than race all the time (surely, the vast majority of the time). Even if we assume these cops were racist, that doesn't mean this event was racially motivated.

To ASSUME and label someone racist, without cause, is ironic IMO. The entire reason racism is bad is because while something might be factually and statistically true of a group, is not necessarily true of all individuals that belong to the group. You use racism as a derogatory, implying you despise it, yet you yourself indulged in reducing them to their group.

This "everything racist" logic needs to end. It does a lot of harm to society. The media stokes it and now we have 10s of millions of people making the same horrible logical conclusions: "If a white does something bad to a non-white, then it must be raycist. Statistically, blacks are less likely to be shot per police encounter than whites. However, the outsized criminality of blacks as a group (7x the murder rate and 12x the armed robbery rate) means blacks encounter police more often. Might want to fix that.

Attributing police action to the one subject being black is only projecting your own racism. It's not at all clear the policeman would have treated an intoxicated white man of heavy build resisting arrest (having to be pulled from his car) any differently. The very fact that two other people of color exiting the same car on their own not being treated the same as Floyd was proof that the motivation was not race. You are only projecting your own racism onto that policeman.
