$20 Billion is the price tag. I'm surprised Obama is picking this fight, seems like an uphill battle.

Pretty nice graph there explaining tax loopholes and fixes for them.

OMG the earth just moved. Ftwayne is an Obama supporter now. Will wonders never cease?

What bullshit anyway. What obummer needs to do is get together with congress and fix the tax code. You know, doing his job.

The price tag is 2 billion a year (based on some pretty big assumptions) not 20 billion. Why not say 200 billion of the next 100 years? or 2 trillion over the next 1000 years?

Pretty interesting that the us government is creating such a media frenzy over 2 billion in a 3.8 trillion dollar budget. That's like .25%. Why all the hype? It's a rounding error. Why are the sheeple eating it up? Yep, by gum martha there's them evil un american companies going offshore, those evil people with offshore banking, and all those evil foreign terrorists who are going to do something, somewhere, sometime. Sure keeps the sheeple looking away from real problems like the fact the 1% is taking all the wealth doesn't it?

The article headline:
"You Don't Get to Pick Your Tax Rate. Neither Should Corporations."
Well, depending on how you choose to file, and what you write off, you do get to pick your tax rate, kinda.

And here I thought it was a global warming, er climate change thread. I thought it was going to be about weather inversions and there would be lots of comments by Dan. Oh well, another thread, another time.

I can't believe we have to pay for presidential vacations.

That's worse than genocide.

Only people who never take vacations should govern. That's just common sense!

Who do you think is going to pay for all those social security bills when they come due, when they already spent all their money on wars and other shit that wasn't needed?

Who the fuck is they? The federal government spend your social security and my social security on wars and the military. There is no they.

Future social security is paid for by taxes today. If someone isn't paying today, that's shortfall in government programs tomorrow, or more commonly higher taxes on everyone else.

So they take all the benefits of the society, while pushing the costs onto the rest of us. That's economic burden on me, and I'm not ok with that.
