That is irrelevant. I don't have to like GZ. The definition of racism is subject to interpretation and without any further calls to harm the group of people targeted by what you perceive as racism those comments are protected by freedom of speech. This may be hard to swallow for some but it is the only way to prevent governments from hijacking morality and turning into an oppressive Orwellian fascist state.

A good number of posts I've read on here aren't subject to too much interpretation. They have been blatantly racist or homophobic. And your supposed right to freedom of speech has plenty of restrictions. It doesn't seem to have turned the US into an 'oppressive Orwellian fascist state' despite what some on this forum like to think.

Most people don't support homophobia or racism. But this is a public forum. Racists and homophobes do, in fact, have the right to say things no matter how foul most of us would find those words to be. The line is crossed at threatening to hurt another person.

I wish I didn't have to read idiocy, too. But I don't feel that I have the right to determine the rule book of what others are allowed to think and feel. It is not illegal for a person to hate gay people. IMHO, it's a waste of their energy. I might tell them that I don't appreciate their words; I can try to help them appreciate a different way of looking at things.... But that's the extent of what any of us can do.

Personally, I wish many of you would dispense with some of the language used on this site. It's as if you think that continuously dropping the F-bomb impacts the credibility of your argument. I was barely aware of Roberto's existence; I just remember he was that guy who got in fights all the time and bragged about his Arizona investments. I didn't even know egads was the same person until someone pointed it out here. You can see in this thread where I came to the realization that it was Roberto, and my surprise that all the time he had been talking about real estate in Arizona rather than California like the rest of us. I don't threaten people in real life, not only because it is a crime, but because it is wrong. I didn't do it here, even though you classy gentlemen were calling me a "pussy" and trying to egg me on. Roberto didn't like it when it happened to him, but he doesn't seem to mind doing it to others. If you are accusing me of something, you ought to think long and hard about that, because you too are in danger of crossing a line.

What's the truth? egads = Roberto?

I don't think there's ever a need to degenerate a debate into personal insults whether it's politics or real estate. Arguments can be done in good faith whether they are based on opinions or documented evidence.

Perhaps this was discussed somewhere else, but how do we know that someone made a threatening phone call to Roberto? I know he said someone did, but do we know this actually happened? Are the police involved? Have they been able to check the phone records?

But if I'm understanding everything correctly, Roberto's employer received a threatening phone call directed at Roberto. Roberto then proceeded to have his screen name and all posts under that screen name erased by Patrick. Roberto then comes back as Egads, admitting he is, in fact, Roberto.

I'm with him right up to the point that he comes back as Egads and admits he's Roberto. I'm assuming the reason he had his original screen name and posts removed from the site is because he felt threatened by a lunatic and didn't want to take chances learning what the lunatic might be capable of. I would have done the same thing in his situation.

Where he loses me is why he would come back as Egads and openly continue the Roberto cause. Either he felt threatened by the lunatic or he didn't. If he felt threatened (threatened enough to want to erase his old identity) why on Earth would he advertise that Egads and Roberto are one and the same?

I would guess he came back because he THRIVES on the fray.
He never acknowledged the Roberto/egads link but he has a persona that is hard to disguise.
