I've noticed that by the time CS reports, the news is too old already for anyone using it to time markets.

I'm local to SF and see no price decreases. Maybe about 4 or 5 months ago, then yes prices have decreased.

Data from my own scraping of thousands of local prices also seems to show SF prices are indeed down in the last year and half.

Still- prices in Mountain View and Sunnyvale are WAY overpriced for a single person or family earning less than 200k a year.
