On a personal note, everyone I know that has a Dyson raves about it. Does Dyson trade publicly? I'm thinking investment here, even though as a contrarian, I usually like to invest against the majority.
Nice try, but that picture she posted was so disgusting that I'm going with the bald guy that pushes Oreck...that, or maybe with the model T-Rex posted.
Forget Dyson. Too bad. It looked so sexy on the commercials. Hard to believe after seeing the dog hair picture.

That picture was after one cleaning .... that should tell you something.
I love my purple Dyson and I’m never going back.
Thanks for your positive comment. That's going to help the Dyson factories continue to make high quality vacuum cleaners, which in turn results in factory jobs, etc.
Ya know rayray, I appreciate that you are so obsessed with me that you have to defend the vacuums. I think it's cute how you still think about me, obviously all the time.
Mine worked okay for a year and a half or so, then quit. The vacuum picked up hair & dirt, it didn't suck it up. And it was supposed to work for animal hair. It didn't. Other people have had this problem - there are many posts online about the problems that people have had with their units. Like every other statistic that doesn't support your narrow point of view, you choose to ignore opinions adverse to yours.
I don't think that every Dyson is a piece of shit, probably only 5% or so. But when it didn't work, they didn't honor their warranty nor would the repairman look at it.

I'm sure that this person's comment will keep dyson in business - mostly in the middle east.

By the way, if you google "which vacuums are best for pet hair" many of the sites don't even mention dyson. I mean, if you actually looked at the issue rather than used it as a not-so-covert way to attack ellie to show your love for her...
I noticed on her pic with the hair that it looked like a thin belt with treads in it compared to my 5 year old one that has a thick smooth ring. It look like a design flaw I could see how hair could be an issue using that kind of belt and pulley.

I noticed that too - but I don't get how it worked fine and then just stopped. One website said that the treads get bound with hair and it slips - I do know it overheated a couple of times when I didn't clean it out right before I threw in the towel.
This thread isn't about the vacuum, tho. It's about an asshole with too much time on his hands.
I don't like to see any company trashed because of one alleged isolated incident. If you look at the facts in this case, the repairman refused to service the vacuum. What's up with that? Sounds to me he knew he was dealing with the "type" of customer no one wants to deal with, IMHO.

I like it how you state your opinion as fact, dwight. And how you think you know everything about this problem. I'd have a battle of wits with you over this, but you've proven yourself to have no ammunition. You don't have to try so hard to be an asshole, rayray - you're doing a great job.
Now go back to laughing at the less fortunate fat people in this world or what ever it is that you do for fun.
It seems a certain someone is displaying the same kind of testy personality that was put on display for the repairman. Is it any wonder he refused to work on the certain someone's well made Dyson?
If you have pets and you want a dyson, you need to get the animal (the purple one). The yellow one clogs too easily.

That's the one I had. And that's the one with other complaints. Maybe it's the belt design, I don't know. But as I mentioned, they haven't replied to emails, letters, phone calls or bringing it into the repair shop. When I looked up pet hair vacuums, it wasn't even mentioned on several of the sites. Amazingly enough, the ones where it was featured prominently were either sponsored by dyson or heavily advertised with that company.
The best thing about the LG I just bought, besides the whole "it works" thing, is that it adjusts for height instead of pushing stuff around the floor like the dyson did.

The color and “animal vacuum†is just marketing. The only difference is that some come with more attachments.
Apparently, Dyson has received a bad rap. It really is a great vacuum cleaner, especially for pet hair. Fair and balanced. I report, you decide:
