Each side is waiting it out. I think USA thinks they can wait it out and think they can effectively grind down Russia.
Ukraine needs to figure out how to keep on keeping on by not sending troops to the meat grinder, which means fighting smarter. Continue to master the use of drones, as I've read the Ukrainians are becoming well versed in drone tech.
The Ukraine general that was recently fired was hesitant to be aggressive at the front in Donbas area, and Zelensky supposedly fired him because of this.
