First off this is a duplicate post dude. No chance in hell comcast equipment weighs 80lbs. You could drop kick a modem and not even feel it. Unless you have rack mount type gear and even then it's not that heavy, no chance your personal/residential setup would weigh 80lbs even if from the 90's, which it isn't.
I'm sitting next to my drum rack mount unit with 16 channels of recording tracks, compressor and power supply. All metal including the rack. 40lbs at best. I know I'm younger but have no issues carrying it up the stairs. 8 rack unit. I don't get the exaggeration of things from you sometimes. Not trying to be a jerk, but maybe check in with a doc about dementia. You posted this the other day.
Who the hell has a metal modem either? 50' of cat 6 maybe weighs 10lbs. Did you rewire the entire house? I really don't understand your posts and I know you post elsewhere, but little to nothing of this makes sense. It's also extremely unlikely you need fiber for how you use the internet. What you do could be done with cell service. I highly doubt you're process large quantities of data like photos and video.

The OP has grossly overpaid for what he's getting. A call to Comcast to switch the service to his wife's name would give him the same Internet service for $25 for the next year. Then switch it back to his name. Rinse, repeat.
And Hulu is currently running a $5/year promotion ($8 if you want to bundle it with Disney+). It has ads though but for heavy cable tv viewers like OP that shouldn't be a problem. (Ads annoy me as fuck so I cancelled in less then a month).

Yeah. I don't get literally any part of his post. Gotta be in his 70-80's. My deceased dad could still build a website at what would have been 73 now. Without 80lbs of equipment. And he wouldn't need my mom's help, the ass hole would have just told her to move this non-existent heavy box on her own.

Why pay for Hulu when Tubi is free?
I hardly ever watch anything on TV. I'll watch certain YouTube channels. Mostly fabricators, or Electronic repair troubleshooting techniques, or lectures on programing tech and tools. I do it all on my computer.. About once a month, I'll check Tubi to see if there's a feature film I haven't seen. If there is, I'll watch it in about 3 sittings not all at once.

I ditched my TV service earlier this year as well. Kids used to watch a few cartoons on there but even they lost interest.

Having frequently commented on Ohomen's posts, he doesn't need a gig up or down. Hell I don't unless I got back into photography space (real estate), never been a gamer. Outside of print, most photography is under 5mb and probably 1mb compressed and no one would notice outside of pros. 100mb of data transfer or 100 photos doesn't need 1 gig fiber.

Something had to be done. We went to our technical person Erik Noyes. He recommended AT and T fiber-optic high-speed internet and Hulu Television for television streaming.
We installed AT and T internet at a cost of $104.00 US per month. We replaced Comcast's business internet and Comcast's residential internet. We have been most satisfied with the performance of this internet carrier.
Two of our televisions were not internet capable. We replaced them with two inexpensive televisions with Web OS and great internet capability with access to Amazon's Alexa. We initiated Hulu Television at a cost of $82.00 US per month.
Yesterday I came back from my workout at the pool. Elena was out walking Loki. I began taking out Comcast equipment from the study, living room, and guest bedroom. I started Hulu Television on the living room television. It worked flawlessly. It passed Elena's tough test.
I worked very hard. I got tired. We had saved a box that brought a large bag of Loki's dog food. I filled this box with Comcast equipment. The box is heavy, I estimate that it weighs 80 lbs to 90 lbs. When I take these components to the Comcast Store for turn-in, Elena will need to help me.
Please bear in mind that this mass of metal and cables was replaced by a modem that I estimate weighs 1/2 lb. We will save a lot on our electric bill with this mass of metal out of our lives.
Comcast had an almost monopoly on cable television in the San Francisco Bay area. They failed to innovate and modernize. What I see in the big cardboard box is technology from the late 1970s or early 1980s. Their monthly bills escalated geometrically. They will end up with a fate similar to Smith Corona Typewriter Company, Sears Roebuck and Company, etc.
