Everyone, please come out and support anti-mandate activist Anh Colton at the Hall of Justice in San Jose this Thursday.

WHAT IS IT?

San Jose court hearing for case number C2207336 — THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF CALIFORNIA vs. Colton, Anh.

WHERE?

San Jose Hall of Justice, 190 W Hedding St, San Jose, CA 95110

WHEN?

This Thursday, 4/27, at 1:30 pm.

WHO IS ANH COLTON?

Anh is a local homeschool mom and anti-mandate activist who ran for Santa Clara County sheriff in the June 7, 2022, California primary election.

WHAT WAS HER GOAL IN RUNNING FOR SHERIFF?

Anh Colton is passionate about upholding Constitutional principles and increasing transparency in the office.

WHY WAS SHE ARRESTED?

Anh was arrested on a perjury charge.

According to the DA, California law requires county sheriff candidates to have law enforcement experience within the last five years. Colton has none, but allegedly said she did on a declaration form.

This law came about after Michael Hennessey, a private citizen from outside of law enforcement, ran for San Francisco County Sheriff successfully in the 1970s wanting to reform law enforcement.

There are many questions about this arrest, see more information here:

Please come and support Anh in this important case, which is bringing to light the necessity of reforms in the local electoral system.

Thank you!

Here's a better post, by an activist friend:

The local government is covering up their own mishandling of the election by making a scapegoat out of Anh! The Clerk office's job under Election Code Section 13.5 was to request documents from her proving that she had law enforcement experience. But they failed to do it. The DA office could've taken her out of the ballot when they couldn't establish her credentials like they did in San Francisco with another candidate but they failed to do it again. Instead they asked Anh to withdraw her candidacy but she still believed she had to run and said NO. Reprinting ballots would cost money, did Jeff Rosen worry about political complications for his own re-election?

The question before the court isn't if she's qualified to run for sheriff but if she lied on the form. Perjury means that somebody has a guilty state of mind lying willingly, not just they made a mistake or have a strong belief. Anh believes that she was qualified under the Constitution and God and any law contradicting her Constitutional rights is null and void. Anh never stated that she had law enforcement experience, and always answered negatively to this question. The DA office knows that she didn't have a guilty state of mind but is still prosecuting her maliciously. Maybe, some egos got hurt by her saying NO.
