There's a reason that gayness was traditionally a crime.

They got money and power now because we all got too soft and accepting. Went from accept us to teach your kids to be gay or you r bigot.

If sexual abuse is so prevalent… especially in the lower class… which I don’t disagree with. Then wouldn’t there be a disproportionately large portion of gay poor people. Wouldn’t we have an epidemic and growing gay population ?

I know it’s anecdotal but actually I know 5 sets of twins where one is gay and the other is straight. Is it really likely only 1 was molested? And that’s why they turned out that way? Three of the twins are female.. so were they molested by women .. since men molesting them just makes them more promiscuous?

I’m not arguing that sexual abuse or abuse in general doesn’t mess kids up badly. Just the extrapolation that sexual abuse is the cause of all gayness in the world is ridiculously myopic.

If gayness were determined by genetics then identical twins would be identically gay or straight. But they are not, so gayness is not something you are born with.

I'm general, how children are treated strongly affects how they turn out as adults. Parents who insult their children create psychopaths.

I seem to recall that twins that were separated at birth had a tendency to be more likely to have the same sexuality. That was once reported.

However, given the abysmal state of psychology and the (lake of) rigor of the studies, I can believe it was falsified. Remember "assisted touch" for children with autism in which a psychologist would lead the hand of autistic child? I knew a psychologist at the time, and I discussed my skepticism of it, she was ABSOLUTELY CERTAIN it was true, and I left it at that. Years later after it was discredited, she basically didn't want to discuss it.

She was no dummy, nice person, smart. That's when I developed my hypothesis that intelligence is inversely proportional to gullibility.

Gullibility may just be related to experience, and how much one has lived in an environment of trust. Also, people are pack animals, and the herd members want to please the leaders. Thus, even smart herd members go along with masking and jabs, and feel virtuous for doing so.

At some point, technology will overtake the creators. If not in 50, then in 100 years we are fucked and will be replaced.

Yah I don’t think Rich’s theory holds out well. Lots of people I know with average or even lower intelligence are wiser than others with high intelligence. And wisdom is a measure of how well you make choices, which includes the choice of who and what to believe. Plenty of highly educated and presumably intelligent people I’ve met are incredibly foolish, believing fervently in the most irrational and contradictory ideas and “facts” just because an authority they trust has said so.

Thinking critically is the best exercise for anyone with higher intelligence to become wise, lest low brow “grunts” pass you by in this area simply through real life experience.

You are free to do your own research. The study I linked to showed 35% of male victims of male perpetrators were gay. Considering gay men are about 10% of the population, that’s an overwhelmingly large correlation.

Thus far you are choosing not to research. Instead you are arguing anecdotally based on a ridiculously small sample size. And how in the world would you know how many gay men there are that are lower income, particularly when gay men are most stigmatized in lower income black communities and the numbers would very likely be underrepresented in first generation low income Latino communities?

Plenty of highly educated and presumably intelligent people I’ve met are incredibly foolish, believing fervently in the most irrational and contradictory ideas and “facts” just because an authority they trust has said so.

Their own status depends on being part of that expert class. This is a big motive to fervently believe in those authorities, no matter how obviously wrong.

I'm all in favor of civil rights for homosexuals. They work, pay taxes, mind their own business. It's their business, not mine.

Big problem is when they start pushing it onto kids because of acceptance. To pump up gay numbers. It’s fucked up. I Fully oppose that shit.
