The backlash against “gender-affirming care” and trans-identified males in women’s sports and prisons is accelerating

To support "gender-affirming care” is to be on the right side of history, millions believe. To be pro-transition is basically the same as being pro-gay, they believe. Whether one is attracted to people of the same sex or believes oneself to be of the opposite sex, it’s just how people are born. Trans people, including children and vulnerable adults, deserve medical care so they can assume their correct gender and deserve to compete in the sports competitions of their preferred sex.

But it’s quickly becoming apparent that “gender medicine” is on the wrong side of history.

Last week, millions of people read stories at X, the Washington Post, the Economist, the Telegraph, and even the Guardian about internal files of the leading transgender health organization, the World Professional Association for Transgender Health (WPATH), showing widespread medical mistreatment of children, adolescents, and vulnerable adults.

And yesterday, the UK government’s National Health Service England (NHSE) announced that it was halting the prescription of puberty blockers in government hospitals.

Of course, most Americans haven’t heard of the WPATH Files or the UK government’s decision. And the UK government will still allow puberty blockers in private clinics, and some people in Europe had already anticipated this decision.

But the UK’s decision was far stronger than had been expected. “It’s bombastic for sure,” Dr. Erica Anderson, a former President of WPATH,” told Public. “Everyone was expecting severe limits. Total ban? No.”

About 5,000 children and adolescents are on the waiting list to get into a UK gender clinic. Now, it’s likely that just a handful will receive puberty blockers.

And puberty blockers aren’t the obvious first thing one would expect the UK government to ban. Far more controversial are genital surgeries on minors, which are irreversible, resulting in sterilization, and likely also cause a significant, if not total, loss of sexual function or hormones.

And because over 90% of children put on puberty blockers continue with “transition,” a ban on puberty blockers will strictly limit hormones and surgery for youth. Some adults will continue to use radical medical interventions, but the effective ban on them for young people is likely to reduce the number from tens of thousands to a few hundred.

As such, the decision by the UK government to issue far more sweeping restrictions suggests the existence of a stronger cross-party consensus within the UK government than the glitzy pro-transition PR of recent years had suggested. There is a sense in which, after years of irresponsible healthcare teenagers having a wild party, drugging kids, and experimenting on their bodies, the adults have come home and started to impose order.

Before the backlash against gender medicine was the backlash against putting transwomen/natal males in women’s prisons. Around the world, men who are caught committing crimes, including violent and sexual ones, are using “gender self-identification” to claim that they are actually women and demand to be put in women’s prisons. Many Americans are unaware that this is even occurring, much less that it brought down the Scottish government in mid-February of last year, just two weeks after its Prime Minister, Nicola Sturgeon, said she had nothing to apologize for.

In terms of trans policies that cause real-world harm, women’s sports are also still an issue. Yet here, too, the backlash against natal males in female sports is gaining momentum. Former college swimming champion Riley Gaines has a new book out and is on the warpath. On Joe Rogan, Gaines told the story of how, despite having tied transwoman/natal male swimmer, Lia Thomas, the NCAA decided, on the stop, to give the one trophy to Thomas.

And the leader of the British Labour Party, Keir Starmer, said on Monday that “common sense has to prevail in terms of safety and integrity of sport” and that biological males should thus not be allowed to participate in women’s sports. Starmer pointed to the fact that some elite sports leagues, including athletics, swimming, and cycling, have already banned transwomen/natal men from competing in women’s leagues.

As such, it’s only a matter of time for liberal-minded Americans and Democrats to hear about the changes in Europe and start to impose reforms. That may happen as early as this year if Republicans turn gender medicine and boys and men in girls and women's sports into political issues. But even if it doesn’t happen this year, it will happen soon. Every day brings more writing on the wall....

The transgender craze started on Tumblr around 2013. I watched it happen, and I know why it happened. The white kids felt abnormal for being normal as Critical Race Theory hit public high schools like my daughter’s. Being “trans” or having a “trans” child elevates one’s status on the Left. They become protected or sacred.

If I told you just 10 years ago that a man would be shaving in the women's locker room at Planet Fitness where young girls were present, and then Planet Fitness would cancel the membership of the woman who complained about it without even a thought about changing the policy, you'd have told me that I was crazy and that I needed to lay off the Alex Jones.

Today in Clown World this is, unfortunately, reality.

And if you complain to Planet Fitness and then ask them to cancel your membership, the gym will cancel it at your request without the blink of an eye and just go about their day.

This is not the first time this has happened at a Planet Fitness either. A Florida woman had her membership canceled in 2018 for the same reason.

Who knows how many other stories there are?

When you consider the entire Lupron saga, it is truly remarkable that a drug this dangerous has managed to stay on the market for decades, particularly given that it still demands an exorbitant price despite there being numerous significantly cheaper generic formulations which could be used instead. Even more remarkable is the fact that there is no evidence to support most of the things its used for, and now almost 40 years later, that the FDA has still not updated its 1985 approval.

In many ways, the Lupron situation is analogous to what we are seeing with the COVID-19 vaccines. Like Lupron, they are extraordinary toxic and in 1-2 injections, often permanently destroy someone’s health in a myriad of ways—but nonetheless are relentlessly defended by the FDA.

In my eyes, the one bright side to the COVID debacle was that the sheer egregiousness of it (mandating an experimental, dangerous and ineffective vaccine while simultaneously suppressing numerous safe and effective treatments for the disease) opened many people’s eyes to the rot within our healthcare system. In turn, people are now seriously open to ideas like how many young women were severely injured by the Gardasil (HPV) vaccine, the century of evidence that childhood vaccines cause sudden infant deaths, or the notion the vaccines cause autism.

Like Lupron, the people who have suffered from those previous vaccines had done everything they could for decades to alert the public to how dangerous they were, but by and large, their pleas had fallen on deaf ears. However, in the same way the COVID-19 vaccines became heavily politicized (which in turn caused half of America to begin seriously scrutinizing all vaccines), the use of Lupron has also become heavily politicized due to the medical industry’s greedy decision to push the drug on our children.

Because of this, we are now seeing leaks (e.g., the recently WPATH one) emerge which are exposing how reckless and unwarranted certain uses of Lupron are. More importantly, since the issue has been politicized, a lot of people are willing to listen and major groups (e.g., numerous Republican states and England’s National Health Service) are now responding the public pressure and prohibiting this use of these drugs. Similarly, certain states are making it easier to sue doctors who give puberty blockers to children and many lawsuits are now being filed. This in turn is causing the cost of their medical malpractice insurance to skyrocket and in many cases be more than what the doctors can afford, hence is making them be unable to continue giving these drugs to children.
