Let's all do our Part, no Coke a Cola product, or any of their subsidiaries. Being White is all about drinking Coke a Cola after all.

So Piss Off COKE!!!!

My Kids love Water, we bought 2, 2 Liter Coke's today, because they want to do the Memento's experiment.
I think I'll make a Fuck Coke video out of it, when we Do. It will be the last Coke products I ever buy in my life time.

If so, why is this thread full of memes and opinions but not any information about the HR training even after teasing this much information out of you? Why isn't proof of the thing the #1 priority? (This is literally one of the plot points in Alice in Wonderland.)

Ok, here's a blogger talking about it with screenshots from the training.

Now that you can see it yourself, are you outraged?

I don't buy Coke (or Sprite) unless it's made in Mexico in the original glass bottle. I boycotted Coke after they started using High Fructose Corn Syrup.

Ok, let's stop being "White." Instead Whites can be Anglo-Saxon, Germanic, Celtic, Slavic, or Nordic. Maybe "Mediterranean" for those Hispano-Italio-Greek types that are sufficiently White and non-greasy.

https://babylonbee.com/news/7-ways-you-can-be-less-white

More and more corporations are requiring their employees to be less white, in an attempt to stop racism forever. But it's hard to know how to do that, since at first blush, that SEEMS really racist and impossible. But it's not. It's actually really easy if you follow these seven simple steps:

1. Burn all your Live, Laugh, Love signs. This is the first step to renouncing whiteness. Find every last "Live, Laugh, Love" sign in your home, every "Too Blessed To Be Stressed" trinket, and every "All I Need Is A Little Bit Of Coffee And A Whole Lot Of Jesus" mug and burn them as you think about your inherently sinful whiteness.

2. Rip off your skin. This is an easy one!

3. Kill yourself. Even easier! For best results, rip off your skin, then kill yourself.

4. Announce that you identify as a person of color. Wait, never mind. This one might be cultural appropriation. You also might be mistaken for a conservative trying to come up with a third joke.

5. Throw out all your ranch dressing. Ranch dressing, mayo -- it's all gotta go.

6. Take dance classes. This is a hard step, but it's worth it. As you learn to dance to a beat, your whiteness will begin to melt away.

7. Hate yourself every waking moment until you have sufficiently atoned for your whiteness. Oops! Spoiler alert: you'll never sufficiently atone for your whiteness. Better go back to step 3.

There you go! Racism ended forever!

When we let the kids have it, that's what they prefer. Not a huge soda drinker but it's what I prefer as well if I'm going to have one. Fortunately we have a few Mexican grocery stores in non-ghetto areas we can grab it from on occasion.

I get it. I will say, though, bottled water is a great way to store water. Just in case you live in, say Texas.

Or you could just store some extra water...

Bottled water is truly a stupidity. There are no requirements on the purity or safety of it. Most bottled water is just filtered water off from a city tap put into bottles.

I'm in the middle of suburbia - if the water was shut off here, I would survive, not so certain about my neighbors though. I could take pool water and make it (safely) drinkable. Boil it to remove the chlorine and kill anything in it, and if you like filter it through sand, and filter it through a drinking water filter - and boil again if you're at all nervous. Drinking water filters don't do much, they just remove minor impurities and chlorine really.

When I was a kid, I used to go with my grandfather to go fishing - we'd take water right out of the lake, boil it, then pour it from one jug to another to aerate it. I remember asking my grandfather why he did this, so he let me taste what non aerated water tasted like. It's awful. It's "flat water".

People in this thread (and elsewhere this is discussed online) convinced this is Coca Cola's corporate policy and secret subversive mission and prepared to boycott them for reasons other than selling nothing other than an unnecessary and unhealthy by manipulating their patriotism.

Yet through it all there's no evidence that this was anything other than a single slide in a presentation made by some third party to some Coca Cola employees.

I seriously don't know why people aren't FUCKING EMBARRASSED at their inability to research claims and stories and the fact that they get unapologetically sucked in by such low grade propaganda and manipulation without ever learning from the last 1000 times they did it.

Nobody is making any presentations to employees w/o management's blessing in any of a giant corporations I worked. It would be naive to think the giant corporation named Coca-Cola is different. The delivery was outsourced but the message is what the management wanted to convey.

I'd research it, however:

https://www.linkedin.com/learning/confronting-racism-with-robin-diangelo

That's the page that is being referred to, and it's been deleted. I checked archive.org - and it was never archived.

So... The company has something to hide, and that's rarely good.

I've found as a good practice - despise corporations and avoid megalithic corporations as much as possible. I live in California, and am constantly amazed that TacoBell exists, when there's a TON of mom and pop shops that actually produce and make actual food, for the same price.

It doesn't need to be "proven" - simple common sense would suffice. Would you allow anyone from the to just walk into your shop and start wrenching on customer's cars or tell your mechanics how to do their job? Of course not - you would not be long in business if you didn't control what the fuck is going on there.

It's pointless to argue with somebody who's never worked outside of a 2-bay muffler shop. The dude simply does not posess any kind of relevant life experience to even understand that his claim of some kind of independend organization being allowed to "train" employees of some corporation while the latter are on the clock w/o management's approval is beyond childish. This shit doesn't happen IRL because it doesn't happen. Full stop. Not only this shit runs by management first, most of the time it runs by legal too.

Thank you for contacting The Coca-Cola Company.

We appreciate your message. Please be assured that the video and images attributed to a Coca-Cola training program are not part of the Company’s learning curriculum. Our Better Together global training is part of a learning plan to help build an inclusive workplace. It is comprised of a number of short videos, each a few minutes long. The training includes access to the LinkedIn Learning platform on a variety of topics, including on diversity, equity, and inclusion. The video in question was accessible on the LinkedIn Learning platform, but was not part of the Company’s curriculum. We will continue to listen to our employees and refine our learning programs as appropriate.

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback with us. Your comments have been heard and shared with our leadership teams.

Dude, when we're talking about employee training in a mega-corporation you need PROOF that it WASN'T approved by management, not the other way around like you're trying to play it. This shit simply doesn't happen like you imagine it does: no third-party can waltz into a corporate setting and provide some "training" to employees on the clock w/o management approval.

How do you even propose to organize it w/o management involvement: hack into a zoom meeting in and say "My name is Automan Empire and I'm here to conduct your MANDATORY EMPLOYEE TRAINING on diversity" (or some crap like that)? No, seriolsy, WTF is going on in your head?
62   Automan Empire   2021 Feb 23, 3:33pm

That is my question to YOU.

You're STILL working with whatever biased information you learned about the presentation from, and now doubling down without even trying to come up with evidence to support and corroborate the position you've taken.

Waiting to see how long it takes people to actually, you know, CHECK for proof themselves; and to see how far some people will go to keep from admitting they might have been wrong about an assertion they made or passed along.

Remember the hilarius incident with the Smithsonian National Museum of African American History and Culture and their "whiteness chart" depicting attributes of white culture? https://www.washingtontimes.com/news/2020/jul/17/smithsonian-african-american-museum-remove-whitene/
Such attributes of "whiteness" are:
• objective, rational linear thinking
• cause and effect relationships
• quantitative emphasis
• hard work is the key to success
• if you didn't meet your goals, you didn't work hard enough

I should think Coke would want those attributes for all of its employees and not to remove those attributes from all of its employees.

I am going to give you both useful advice.

@Buck_Fiden you may be correct, @Automan Empire may possibly have inexperience. Instead of just insulting him, explain to him why he's wrong.

It's not important for anybody to be initially correct, what is important is to teach others what is correct, and to learn from your own mistakes. Drop your ego. If you explain why he's wrong, not only will he learn, others will as well. People shouldn't bicker.

It's a very useful mindset to adopt that not only will you accept that you are wrong when you are, but you are willing to point out other people's faulty thinking when you identify it. If you insult people, all you do is make people dig their heels in. You two aren't in a company swinging your dick around for status - you're on a fucking message board - there's no stakes in "winning" or "losing". The only purpose of communication here is to express your ideas and beliefs, and to get pushback.

When I'm wrong, I'm thankful when I'm shown to be wrong. People do me a favor when they show me that I'm incorrect, lack knowledge, or have faulty thinking.

Same, but this is vanishingly rare. Ego defense matters more than anything, independent of political persuasion.

One of those pesky "smart end of the Dunning-Kruger effect" problems. I've had breakup tantrums where the woman says, "You just LOVE being smarter than everyone else and lording this over them!" If they only knew, it's actually a lonelier existence than the weird "Bee Girl" in the Blind Melon video. The headline of the linked article is 'Coke admits its training told employees to be "less white," says curriculum will be "refined"'

From the body: 'Coca-Cola company is acknowledging its participation in a learning seminar that instructed its employees to be "less white."'

Also from the body: 'its statement acknowledges that employees were prompted to participate in the LinkedIn Learning series that subjected them to such a lesson.'

As an engineer, I'll tell you that the shittiest engineers, have the biggest egos.

There's been plenty of times somebody said "you're wrong, and this is why you are wrong, and here's the explanation of why you are wrong" and I was wrong, and I learned from it. But I've worked with other engineers where I explained they were wrong, this is why they were wrong, and here's why, and they still did it the wrong way. I hate working with people like that.

Stupid people think they are smart, and smart people always suspect they are stupid. We're all stupid in some ways.

In my early career my ego was the largest block to my learning, fortunately, I got rid of it by my late 20's.

The best part about transferring from liberal arts to engineering as an undergrad was that engineers can and do prove each other wrong all the time. When you're wrong, it's over.

In liberal arts, the argument went on forever because they were so vague. No one accepted being wrong. They would just redefine something to make themselves right.

It was also nice to get out of the gloom. Liberal arts majors are all pessimistic about getting a decent job, and rightly so. Engineering students are all optimistic about getting a decent job, and rightly so for them as well.

The "Be less white" piece was not Coca-Cola's company curriculum, nor is there any evidence that this was the corporation's intent. It appears to me that their curriculum linked to some "diversity training" suite of material on Linkedin, which included the offensive "Be less white" article.

People seem to have assumed that I'm pro-diversity training and am trying to defend it, and are attacking me as if this attacks diversity training. Fact is, I'm very against it, and believe that fighting against it successfully means using our limited power and energy for the cause to strike the root, rather than endlessly hack at the branches of its evil.

By attacking Coca-Cola instead of the diversity training itself, people are unwittingly protecting the actual proponents of this B.S. by mistakenly blaming Coca-Cola, assuming the corporation was motivated by wokeness and corroboration at undoing Western culture. All the anger and outrage is directed at Coca-Cola, who ultimately is NOT the primary proponent of this, and the ACTUAL nefarious proponents are sitting unchallenged right now, and will remain so after this tempest in a coke can sputters out for lack of real world relevance.

We opponents of diversity training could cast Coca-Cola as an ally and type of victim of the viral disease of intersectional bullshit, and united could raise a stink against the correct enemy that would make it VERY difficult to get other companies to lowkey adopt this in what must sound good in a boardroom presentation.

IDK if any of you remembered me calling out Hipcamp for their diversity program that was obviously written by the Anti Defamation League. Without spinning it into some dubiously related "part of the drive to destroy Western culture" narrative, I couldn't even get hardcore Trump Supporter hipcamp hosts to register interest or concern on a picogiveashit scale.

This "Coca-cola deliberately pushing woke culture" is tabloid journalism level news that gets a LOT of people worked up, but succeeds only in getting them to virtue signal that they're going to boycott Coca-Cola, albeit without closely perusing a list of brands they own or pondering their actual commitment to laissez-faire capitalism. The underhanded organizations that peddle this diversity training to big corps go untouched this round, with the way this story was presented and misinterpreted by most readers, everywhere not just on Patrick.Net.

My guess is Coke, like a lot of other companies in recent years, hired a diversity dept and pledged to take their advice. And they needed to commit to X amount of annual diversity education, and this Diangelo piece is one of the things that ended up in the curriculum they curated for their employees. So I think responsibility of this is a combo of their own woke employees mostly in the diversity dept, as well as woke activists pressuring them. Of course, mgmt is accountable for these employees.

At the end of the day, I doubt many companies actually like this woke crap. They're just trying navigate it, and appease the activists to avoid their wrath and virtue signal, without upsetting other people too much, in some optimal, profitable balance. So I can mildly sympathize and view coke as a victim of wokeness pressure, but that doesn't mean they should get off from this event lightly. If we get upset, coke and other companies will see this, and realize the cost of bending the knee is higher than they thought.

The cost of bending the knee to wokeness needs to become higher than the cost of not bending the knee. Until then, companies will bend the knee. Attacking them raises their costs.
