HUH? you think he's not planning on holding Bitcoin for the long, long run? Why would he invest 1.5B USD in Bitcoin? for a short term trade?

Lol. To print $300M. You do understand how he can leverage that money right? Musk sold, get over it.
82   WookieMan   2021 Feb 11, 6:18pm

He took OPM from TSLA and the took your money. Brilliant fleecing.
83   Bitcoin   2021 Feb 11, 8:55pm

Thank you Elon! (And Tesla shareholders). Buying $1.5B of Bitcoin to hold on their balance sheet long term was the greatest gift. A gift that keeps on giving.

1) It sent a big F.U. to Bitcoin haters
2) It is extremely bullish for the BTC price (50k Bitcoin incoming) &
3) It started a trend (more and more companies will follow).

But words alone are not enough. As a thank you, I will buy a Tesla with Bitcoin logos once I cash out :)

This is interesting.

The Bitcoin ledger is public, so even if the transactions are all from anonymous public keys, it should possible to see which public keys bought $1.5 billion worth recently. And then to see if those same public keys sold.

Anyone know Tesla's Bitcoin public key? Maybe there are many, but still.
85   Bitcoin   2021 Feb 11, 10:29pm

Its fake news by the Bitcoin hater WookieMan. Not a single source....just "the voices".

Of course Tesla bought Bitcoin to hold for the long term. Bitcoin haters seem to have a hard time dealing with the fact that Tesla bought Bitcoin in an unprecedented way. ($1.5B worth in Bitcoin)

This.

There's no way to track it even by volume to an individual. Could be some other whale at current prices and volume, it's not just one purchase. Anyone thinking he came in to hold $1.5B in BTC with TLSA money is nuts. It's a public company, the board would toss him if he lost significant money on this. He couldn't do this with other stock either, it's the wild west in crypto world. He can fuck you and there's no consequence.

He's trolling the crypto people. 100%. He has the money and is smarter than them. The guy has automated landing rockets for fucks sake. He's launched more rockets then almost all countries. If one doesn't think he's capable of a pump and dump with $1.5B, you've gotta start paying attention.

Either way I can be proven wrong because TSLA has to report earnings and financials. And maybe Musk is not as bright as I thought. But do the math on ~38k to almost 50k when investing 1.5B. In and out people. He printed $200M+ and knew his buy would pump it. You can move markets big time with $1B.

People also need to get off the percentage gain. It's not about that at all if you have a lot of money. You don't chase 10 baggers on $10k. You make a small cruise ship out of thin air by scamming people into thinking you're interested in a financial product at a measly 10-15% gain and then sail the boat.

He's just playing people. It's kind of funny. People follow Musk and he's literally said he thinks the human race is fucked. One of the wealthiest guys smoked pot on a meatheads podcast. Do some of you even understand what he is?

Better to be a Tesla & Bitcoin hater than a fluffer fir either of them.

I disagree. Being a Tesla and Bitcoin holder is very profitable :)

The question is, which major company will be next to invest billions of USD into Bitcoin and hold long term on their balance sheet?
Apple? Its huge bullish news for Bitcoin/crypto holders!
91   porkchopXpress   2021 Feb 12, 8:46am

I agree with G36. More institutions and heavy hitters are realizing that crypto as a revolutionary and brand new asset class is only getting bigger, so the smart play is to accumulate as much as you can and hold on for the long term.
92   Bitcoin   2021 Feb 12, 8:49am

exactly!
93   Tix2fun   2021 Feb 12, 8:54am

When people are under the influence of alcohol or weed can take weird decisions 😃. Elon is also promoting Dogecoin which has no future. It’s just a pump and dump, he has cult following on Twitter and taking a little bit of weed brings out a genius in him, he tweets, follower buy and coins go up. But Elon has helped in changing the narrative many more corporate CFO might be inclined to follow Square,PayPal, Microstrategy and now Tesla. But not sure if Companies like Apple , Google or Microsoft might jump so soon . Tesla corporate & fiscal governance has always been questionable in the past, only one person takes the decisions so not surprised they have taken bets in one of the risky asset. Will be interesting to see how this pans out in future.

No. G36 isn't pushing "crypo' he is pushing Bitcoin specifically. There's a difference.

Nope, I own Bitcoin and other top market cap coins.

What does everyone see for the future of TSLA stock? Just for the heck of it I bought 2 shares on Monday for $868. I also bought 116 shares of ARKK, which heavily invests in TSLA, for $153.

Were Tulips seen as digital gold? How did you program Tulips? Never seen one that you can attach to your device via USB.
Were you able to send Tulips across the world in seconds?
How do you build a smart contract on a Tulip and how is a Tulip your own bank? The tulip doesnt fit into a hardware wallet unless you really cut the tulip in very small pieces.

That's probably why Tesla is not putting tulips on the balance sheet but digital gold (Bitcoin)

TSLA is not. They did for reporting for Q4 because they have to for the quick pump. If you think a publicly traded company is holding $1.5B BTC long term given its history, you've lost a lot of brain cells. Musk likely single handedly could be responsible for this recent pump. Trust me, he's long out of this position at this point or holding house money best case for you as the pump continues to work for HIM, not you. The timing is hysterical. Wait for Q1 reports. He's got you guys on a yo-yo and knows it.

Printing money to get to Mars is kind of cool though. Better things will come from that cash on the backs of you crypto "investors" so that's good. If you can extract money from retards legally, I'm okay with it. He's likely got his buddies in on it too. Wait till the sell off starts. It's going to be hysterical. I'm honestly past caring about people losing it all anymore. I'm just going to grab the popcorn and give everyone shit.

Yep, I believe big corporations like Tesla starting to build their positions in Bitcoin for the long term results in a super cycle for Bitcoin. Dumb money is still in the disbelief stage which means we are early in this super cycle. Holy cow. We might be seeing a $500,000 Bitcoin in the near future!

That's the funny part, there is really nothing to sell off. The price of bitcoin is set by what ever people will currently pay for it. If a large number of HODLer's decide to dump the price will drop like a rock and they'll will go back to HODLing.

HODLer's gonna HODL.

If @WookieMan would have invested his stimulus money in Bitcoin he would have made over 600% and would have enough money for a downpayment for a shack in IL!

I've heard gay people are envious of other normal straight people. I don't get stimulus checks like gays with AIDS and high medical bills. I just make money.

Actually, in some ways, he's not too dissimilar from the Larry Ellison of the 90s with one difference, Larry was a realist and actually spoke about tangible things like media-on-demand, consolidation of the backoffice, rise of biotech (as mainstream vs trad pharma), etc, etc. This is stuff which all happened starting in the early 2000s and beyond.

Sure, Ellison didn't talk about landing men on Mars but think it about, why would anyone want to be responsible for a bunch of dead ppl on a rock? It sounds good on a sound bite but get real, that first crew to Mars will all be dead, long before the journey home.

Tesla is already starting to sell. I don't think some of our users here understand their station in life. $10k versus $100M in a week. That $10k is your life for G. The $100M is nothing. It drops they still have more than the above average American makes in a lifetime by huge amounts.

Sure there might be pissed off stock holders, but what does it matter? If it's not criminal, you can do anything with OPM. I don't like to play games with $$$ where there's people that don't care about losing. You end up the loser chasing a get rich scheme.

Tesla buying Bitcoin for 1.5B USD is just the start. A huge trend has started.
