Get your USD back quickly would be my advice and treat yourself to a nice dinner (if you can in your part of CA). Sad I have to add that caveat to the comment. Or a couple dinners or lunches. Small businesses need $$ or they're toast. Enjoy the found money and help the small guys, otherwise they'll be gone and you'll be eating a Chilis if you want to go out...

when did you buy Bitcoin? (year is good enough) & what wallet are you using? (is it a hardware wallet?)

What can be wrong with having some exposure to Bitcoin. I assume you dont need the money to pay your bills. Just dollar cost avg into BTC and increase the holdings.

Someone gave it to me in 2016 just as a demo. I think it was only a couple of dollars at the time.

Just dump it dude. Take the found money and enjoy it. You only live once. I guess if investing in spreadsheets sounds fun, go ahead. But sounds like misery and a waste of time to me and you already sound like the path you've chosen has done you well. I'd stick to it.

And this is why I fight in these threads. I hope to not see you go down the crypto path, I don't think you will, but this is why I fight all these comments. I don't joke when I've seen people lose everything because of this virus called crypto. They were talented day traders too prior to crypto being big. It's dangerous as fuck. I don't push anything else here beside maybe traveling. Not gold, not silver, not stocks, not crypto.

never heard of that one. Well, let it ride....Its a great store of value....a few bucks in 2016 turned into 370 bucks just 5 years later. Bitcoin is the best performing asset.

@Patrick, nice. I have a good junk of money in the stock market as well. But one cant afford to not have some exposure in Bitcoin and Ethereum.
Life changing money for those who invest in it! I recommend to have a few percentage points of your net worth in Bitcoin.

It scares you when people hold Bitcoin. You immediately talk about guns and ammo. I believe its a symptom of the Bitcoin-Sunshine-Derangement Syndrome.


Instead of being scared, you should buy a bit of Bitcoin. That will greatly help with BSDS. Also, instead of ammo, you should buy an umbrella. You live in IL for pete's sake.
