The word you are looking for is Hispanic.

Thought that only applied to people from the West Indies. Cubans and Dominicans and such. Cubans sure don’t identify with Central Americans on much.

TexMex have referred to themselves as Hispanic since at least the 80s. I don't know how long. Isn't that a term Nixon came up with?

When I moved back to CA and there were way more Mexicans vs. when I was a kid I thought it strange that they kept calling themselves Latina/o.

I think we need to go further and invalidate all the fucking anchor babies that were dropped here going back to Reagan. There are literal baby mills in CA where Chinese fly in, pop em out, get their cert then go back to China.

Fuck this. No other country in the world accepts this shit so I don't either.

That is logistically a nearly impossible task though and very expensive. Going forward We need to shut down anchor babies. You will need to also change birthplace citizenship in the legislature which I don't think is going to happen, so I would focus on prevention. People from poorer countries are constantly encouraged to come here unless you take away the benefits and only grant them those benefits if they legally acquire citizenship while keeping certain conditions (providing for themselves and not committing any crimes similar to visa holders, and of course there's a quota as well). Giving some a path to do so I have nothing against it and the administration for now has to comply with the SCOTUS decision anyways. The issue is we have to take away benefits for currently illegal/undocumented immigrants which the Dems are hell-bent on keeping and blocking anything trying to clean this up. There are countries who accept far worse - on paper and for a White person it's very hard to become a German since the don't grant birthplace citizenship like the US, however many European countries have been letting in and eventually naturalizing rapefugees at no limits while providing for them. Eastern Europe and Asia have the tightest immigration controls.

Well mell, just call ME a dreamer then haha. I'd also like to add to that we should roll back the immigration law changes from LBJs tenure.

I know it won't happen. Thus, the start of my potential exit plans.

I have a cousin who pilots United. He loves it in Costa Rica and get this: Guatemala!

He grew up in Houston. He says those countries are with respect to the US like the US used to be government-wise.

If he retires in one like he plans then I'll be able to target that area from Florida on my boat!

I was quite surprised that he's considering Guatemala. He's there all the time though and thinks it's safe.

I heard mixed stories about central America, a hippie ex-GF had only good things to say but she never had any bad luck. One of my former buddies and colleagues tried to visit Venezuela, got robbed at gunpoint and pistol whipped pretty much fresh out of the plane at the train station and had to return right away through the consulate. I traveled the Baja California only, but for quite a bit and only had good experiences. I'm thinking Eastern Europe or Austria/Switzerland or even Germany or Italy (depending on the political climate), rural US like coastal Maine but who knows. Still have to do a lot of paperwork so won't be ready til 2021 unfortunately. If Trump doesn't win, the remaining 6-12 months in CA could be painful. I need to stay close to Family which is in Europe and US, so East coast would be optimal if there will be any remaining refugiums, most likely out of CA though, maybe a small chance for wine country. Florida may be a good spot as well, cheap and except for Miami conservative and close to nice vacation destinations. Humid though.

Big problem for me when I was a kid in South Texas. I shave my head now so no more bad hair days!

Costa is nice. I have only spent a week there in the Tamarindo area, so a tourist spot. I'm 6'3" and the other family we went with, the husband looks like the fucking hulk, so we probably weren't easy targets. Most the problems in that area from my understanding are petty theft, as is usually the case with a more touristy areas. I'm on a FB page and there are quite a few home burglaries more inland from the coast.

Costa also has this reputation as some "eco friendly" vacation spot. Place is pretty dirty. Hour or so drive from Liberia to Tamarindo and it didn't live up to the eco reputation at all. I think it's just a marketing ploy by the government tourism program. Trash everywhere. Infrastructure is still close to 3rd world in most areas as well. We technically stayed in Play Langosta and they had supposedly been rebuilding a ~1,000' section of road for 2 years. Workers using pick axes to break up dirt. No excavators to be seen. My wife is in the construction field and it was a 1 month job at longest with probably a crew of 6-8.

I've only been to both once, but Aruba and Curacao are nice. Had no feeling of being unsafe in either, where there were a few times in Costa I definitely felt I needed to be more alert. No hurricanes, same with Costa though they have a wet and dry season. Hurricanes would suck, but you can't go wrong with USVI's or PR either and traveling in and out we be much easier. And supposedly there's some massive tax advantage if PR is your primary place of residence.

PR will probably be my winter spring home and I'd get out of dodge July to end of October to avoid hurricanes and would probably go to Curacao. Own in PR and rent in Curacao. San Juan airport is nice too and unlike most US airports has a nice lounge if you have that access. I just love the Caribbean and would eventually like to get into sailing which is another reason to be there. Some of the best in the world.
