You have to respect Fauci for standing up for what he thought was right. When he advised Trump to announce that elderly should not travel (on about March 6), Trump said no that he wouldn't do that. Apparently Trump was still in denial.
So Fauci went on the Sunday morning News programs and announced it himself. It would have been better if the President hadn't been so slow to believe his advisers, or better still if he had more real advisers. But at least Fauci stepped up.

I do find it odd, he's been in charge of Malaria and Respiratory disease since 1984, but hasn't conducted clinical trails for the Coronavirus treatment with Chloriniquie. Since 2005 when it was used to treat SARS.
