Is there a meaning to it beyond steak and eggs?

That looks good, I don't know what weirdo serves eggs on a bed of peas and corn though.
I've had the egg served on top of the steak though.

I miss the actual "Steak and Eggs" place we had in town eons ago.

They had great New York Strips served with Eggs and hash browns.
The health department probably chased them out of town.

I’ll never use them again. Ordered a couple times and the second time the driver kept one of the bags including my wife’s meal. I guess he was hungry? Ugh.

This reminds me of restaurants in Portugal, where they always have a fried egg on top of the steak. Almost as bad as the French, who crack a raw egg into the calzone before they fold it.

Is it just me, or do I almost never hear very much positive about the French? I have limited interest in Europe (vacationing) and zero in ever seeing France. I can see old structures in a bunch of other places in the world and that's about the only positive thing I've heard about France. There's better natural scenery in a shitload of other places as well. I don't get it.

Side story, closest I've been to a physical confrontation in a decade was with some French cunt (dude) in Costa Rica by the pool/bar we were at. Dude was human trash the way he treated the waitstaff and other guests. I had no interest in going to jail for killing the old fuck with one punch, so I had an Imperial (or six) and moved on.

If you did go to France, they are very friendly in the south. I was at Le Tube Air Base for a few months in 1995 (near Marseilles) and the locals could not have been nicer. Several older locals talked about how the Americans pushed the Germans out, and these discussions had an air of gratitude. They still hate the English, though.

I honestly probably will at some point to be honest. I'm not that closed minded (yet at least). Just not a ton of positive feedback I hear about the people of France and from my research I have little interest in the scenery.

Same can be said for here (America) I'm sure, but I've never treated a foreign tourist here bad myself. I literally took 20 minutes giving directions to a Chinese tourist in Grand Teton, WY. It took me 20 minutes and both of us showing our map apps for me to get her to understand she was about 2,000' to the south of the main entrance to the park coming from Jackson. I was as polite as I could be with a language barrier. I think the interaction was positive, but I could see where some people are/could be ass holes in that situation.

Hash browns are obviously taster but it's good to have some veggies, esp with a meal as protein rich as steak & eggs.

In terms of tourism, Quebec City & to a lesser extent, Montreal, are a good way to get some French experience w/o leaving the continent. Those places make their money on tourists visiting so it isn't like you're going to go to restaurants and hotels and be treated like trash for coming from the lower 48. Plus, if you want to talk to a Quebecois and politely say, "Excusez-moi monsieur, parlez-vous anglais" he'll respond kindly because at least you acknowledged that you're not going to force English and that gives him the time to either respond yes or no but also, point you to someone who's a fluent English speaker.

It's not the veggies. I love all veggies. It's the placement.
Though it might not be that bad. My SIL makes a salad using Mixed veg Peas, Carrots, and Corn, she then dices Beets about the same size, then a few dollops of mayo then mixes it together. It's not bad at all.

Who wants peas and corn for breakfast? Ugh!

Went to Montreal as a kid (like 10 I think) so my memory isn't the best. It was fine, as I'm sure I'd have the same experience/opinion of actual France if I went. If you're talking bucket list, top 20 places to visit before you die, France and most of Europe doesn't even crack the top 25 in my book.
