Racist and racism are the most abused words in the English language today. But the overt hatred many of you display towards Muslims leads me to conclude there are still times with the word racist(or bigot) is aptly applied. If you don't take a more balanced view, this is where your thoughts will logically lead you..

I've only personally known three Muslims in my life. All co-workers, all from the Middle East. They are some of the most polite, well INTEGRATED(for Rin), people I've ever known. I specifically remember the guy from Pakistan complaining about the screening process because DHS would call him in the middle of the night, and start interrogating him about being a terrorist. Sounds an awful lot like some people here. I knew that was wrong then, and it's still wrong now.

Sounds like you come from a not so cosmopolitan region, for a CA resident.

The Muslims I know, who're the most assimilated are actually from Turkey and I can count a dozen of them. Yes, and believe it or not, a few of them have left Islam for Buddhism, Nestorial Christianity (not every likes the Patriarch of the eastern church), & Shamanism. This is the most secular, at least until this past decade, of all the Islamic nationalities.

In contrast, the Paki nationals I know, at least seven of them, are full of hatred for India and even their new country, the USA, for supporting Israel. One of them, a guy from Ohio, not even the Boston to NJ corridor, gave an Israeli visiting scholar, a hard time about the concept of Jihad & why it's not about Islam but about "community protection and one's family's protection". Talk about delusional and crazy.

And nevermind the other Arab nationals for they're too smart to even mention Islam in public these days. Those are all whispered from around the corners which BTW, form a bulk of that's Mosque's fifth column in Central Sq Cambridge MA. So no, this is not your local Zen center. This is where the Boston bombers got radicalized. And yes, these Arabs can afford Louis Vitton so it's not about the poor vs the rich.

Two things, you think Pakistan is part of the Middle East!! and the key point here is "would"

Your English comprehension needs a lot of work. Or are you that desperate to sound right?

Blue says
So all your conclusions are based on THREE guys!! great!

I'm sorry, I missed the part where you told us how many Muslims you know on a personal level...

Can you imagine how difficult and challenging job at DHS to safeguard this country to get to the current level of safety.

Yes. They routinely fail to catch weapons at the airport, illegals crossing the border, and their greatest success seems to be harassing, beating, and killing US civilians. Wait! Or maybe they just really suck at their job.. WAIT!? Or maybe they're really good at their job, and YOU just aren't smart enough to know what that is.

There are large Middle-Eastern communities in East San Diego county. The other two guys were Iranian. I didn't mention a 4th guy(Iranian), because I didn't work with him very long, so didn't know him as well.

Does the same logic apply to how many white supremacists or neonazis we know? If we know some of those people on a personal basis doesn’t that make them ok? I mean, it’s only their beliefs that are questionable. They might be absolutely personable fellows!

What would you want to do if Pakistan, Iraq, Syria, or Yemen was the world power instead of the US, and they constantly sent drone strikes to this country killing women and children? Think you might become a little "radicalized" yourself? I know I would.

Fair, but the point of my OP is racism based on blanket hatred of someone from a particular region based on their assumed religious beliefs. So not an apples to apples. And you dodged my question, so thanks for confirming my personal experience trumps yours, so you have no place to talk.

Was anyone defending this sort of racism? Please give examples.

Please stop making excuses for radical Islamists. The only thing that is "radicalizing" them is the radical interpretation of Islam.

Think before 9/11, America's foreign policy since the Cold War was almost exclusively in the support of Muslims.

- assisting the Afghani Mujaheddin to kick out the USSR
- Risking American lives to end the civil war and genocide in Somalia
- Bombing European countries to end the genocide in the Balkans
- protecting Saudi Arabia, Jordan and Kuwait from Saddam Hussein invasion and SCUD attacks

Yet the radical Islamists still whacked us on 9/11 (and tried before in 1993) with significant pluralities in those countries cheering them on.

Fuck them. They have no legitimate excuse for their depravity.

Now, I know you're a troll. In my own engineering program, there were 4 Iranians. What did you study, basket weaving?

At my client sites, I can count .. 2, 1, 3, 5, etc. Yes, it's a lot.

He also likes to depict others of color, i.e. Vietnamese/Cambodians as non-assimilated, a pathetic attempt at straw man-ing that there is.

Your credibility here, shot. Stick to what you know, hoes, and an empty house.

Yep, a troll. You obviously don't know ppl from Southeast Asia and also play the Boston bombing hoax game.

What was really behind that though ?

If the goal was to take over, wouldn't it have been wiser to infiltrate the west by pretending to be amenable to being moderate and semi secular - you know, getting the trojan horse in before making us their bitch ?

It's almost as if some powers want Islamic folks NOT to be integrated in to the west.

OR maybe we're just lucky that they showed their hand so early ?

Although actually, Islam is pro-white Arab

This is true, and a core weakness of Islam.

A Pakistani guy I know complained that the Saudis in particular are just about the most racist people on earth and abuse the Pakistanis in their country mercilessly. The Saudis see themselves as superior in all ways to darker people.

Islam is to a large degree an Arab supremacist movement.

South Asian Muslims are untouchables, they should go to their designated Mosques. By mistake if they attend middle east locals's Mosque, they go through capital punishment.
