I am at loss about this stupidity - to a large extent, proliferation of various "tolerance", "diversity", "student success" and similar offices is the reason for huge increases in university tuition. One would think that in more conservative states legislature would put a stop to this via school regents (appointed by governor/legislature), who in turn have power to appoint Univ Presidents/Provosts. If Prez/Provost would be reasonable, they can de-fund and dismantle the PC Police. However, this does not happen - even formerly conservative schools such as Texas A&M are taken over by SJW's. Either state legislatures are stupid, or they do not care, or (in conservative states) they need a liberal boogeyman to scare their electorate into voting for them.
Meaning that all the university and corporate offices charged with enforcing political correctness with are in dire daily need of "oppressed" minorities and "oppressed" women, and if they can't find them, they will invent them. But actual cases of discrimination against white people and men will be ignored and dismissed, because such discrimination cannot be used to gain funding and power for those offices.

I think university presidents/provots and state legislatures are simply weak and fearful. They are afraid of protests, and of the press calling them racist etc.
This is one reason Trump is popular. All other politicians are deathly afraid of accusations in the press. Trump alone is not. Trump is amazing in that he stands up to the press and their relentless 100% negative coverage of him in spite of his accomplishments. People admire grit and spine in their leaders. They don't want "leaders" who crumple under the slightest public criticism.
There is also an innate difference between male and female thinking, which is well documented by social psychologists across all cultures. I bet you could plot the proliferation of "diversity" offices against the number of women in power and find that the lines track each other perfectly.

A picture tweeted by KPIX shows the broken star with a dropped pickaxe next to it, and another sent by by a KTLA journalist showed the star fully obliterated. NBC's Jonathan Gonzalez reported: "Multiple people—including police—tell me a man walked up with a guitar case and pulled out the pick axe.
Then, it’s believed, he called police himself to report it, but left the scene before they got here. Now, he’s nowhere to be found." Trump’s star was previously vandalized in October 2016—but the damage from the new attack looks to be much more extensive.
