"“I’ve gone after a lot of lawless landlords in my time, but Anne Kihagi has a special place reserved for her in San Francisco’s abusive landlord hall of fame,†said City Attorney Dennis Herrera, whose office sued Kihagi in June 2015. “You can’t come to this city and lie, cheat and steal your way to massive wealth on the backs of residents. We’re not going to allow it.â€
Kihagi, a native of Kenya and a former investment banker, started buying properties in June 2013 in Noe Valley, the Castro, the Mission and North Beach. She had previously invested in multifamily properties in West Hollywood, where she was also sued by the city for violating rent-control regulations. In April, a judge in West Hollywood ordered her jailed for five days for violating state housing law, a decision Kihagi is appealing."
He he he. Those Kenyans. One ruins the country, and the other one ruins San Francisco.
When liberal SF rules against a landlord, I have learned to take it with a grain of salt.
The media here always looks at it from the angle of the tenant. But I've seen travesties carried out against landlords here over and over too. It's like this city makes up rules as it goes if the tenant kicks and cries loud enough
I heard this argument from one of my tenants in the East Bay last month as his lease was coming to an end:
"I've paid your mortgage for 4yrs. Aren't I entitled to a portion of the profits" I was shocked.

No, you fucking asshole. Because you weren't entitled to any of the losses.

I would love to say you got real life trolled, but the dummy was probably serious.
Tenants definitely are not entitled to a portion of the profits.
But, wrongfully evicted tenants should be conpensated. I know I know, the tenants can sue the Keyan landlord, but these tenants have no resources to do so.

I promise you he was serious as a heart attack.
I told him there was a cost for me to rent to him and had he been renting at a time when the market was declining, he surely wouldn't have been volunteering to share in my loses. He never brought it up again. I've hated him ever since lol
Here in the Bay Area, this type of liberal entitled attitude isn't rate.

I'm surprised someone here hasn't made such an argument yet

Sarcasm? Patnet certainly some strong left leaners here.
a San Francisco Superior Court Judge has ordered a landlord to pay the city nearly $2.4 million in penalties for violations of state housing law.
The landlord, Kihagi, a native of Kenya and a former investment banker, started buying properties in June 2013 in Noe Valley, the Castro, the Mission and North Beach.
There is a problem. The evicted tenants get nothing in compensation.
