This thread demonstrates a point I keep making. Parenting should be licensed. Not everyone should be allowed to become a parent simply because they want to. It's a responsibility, not a right.

There is no connection between licensing parents and domestic spying, violating wiretap laws, torturing people, and state-sponsored rape.

The government already takes away the freedom of parents to raise children through Child Protective Services. What I'm suggesting is to be pro-active so that CPS does not have to do that. Prevent the problems in the first place. That's not an assault on human rights like anally searching a person is. Parenting is not a right. It's a responsibility.

Oh, and the government most certainly does restrict the freedom to have children already. See anti-incest laws and preventing sexual relationships in prisons.

Also, you do realize that the NSA doesn't run CPS, right? They are entirely different people in those two agencies. You act as if the government were one single mind.

Inbreeding causes physical and mental defects among children. That is as good as child abuse, so incest must be banned.
