As racial separation in education steadily grows, California now leads the nation in children going to school with their own kind, a UCLA study released Wednesday contends.

For some reason the article fails to mention that the UCLA study said that New York was number one and The South was the LEAST segregated portion of America.

Of course! I've been pointing out the hypocrisy of the Liberals for years.
Name any major Liberal town, where you would tell me that that city is a model ideal example of what the Democrats would consider a true Liberal Utopia.

And I would Guarant-Fukien Tea ya, that most progressive Liberals of them all live in Gated communities separated by miles of road from the depressed minority areas. And the schools between to two districts would be the most lopsided in the Nation.

They way Democrats carry on about race inequality and education. And they toot their own horn about how education begins in the home. Then you would think they would live amongst those that they champion most, and teach their own kids to be mentors and examples at school. Instead of living miles away then prognosticating about life the hood. All the while fighting for every leg up and advantage for their own kids in the "Good School" district.

Hold on, the article is actually indicating an economic, as oppose to a racial apartheid.

Remember, 92% White/Asian in the well off area. Well ... last I'd checked, Asians were not a majority crowd outside of Hawaii.

Therefore, I'll say that this is about economic segregation and yes, that's definitely for real in this society of ours, esp moving forward.

Let's not get bogged down in understanding this.

What fun is that ?

How am I supposed to have the kind of emotional experience I want if I have to take in to consideration such things as facts and logic ?

It doesn't matter whether you're in the north or the south, the wealthier neighborhoods are going to be predominantly white.

But evidently, the poor neighborhoods in the south are more likely to be mixed than those in some northern and coastal cities.

Rin is correct. This isn't really about intentional racial segregation at all, unless you believe that there should be bussing policies to promote integration.

The current system is that your location of residence determines what school you go to, not your race. California has a massive latino population which lends itself to some rather bizarre inferences here.

The average white student in Union Elementary District in San Jose attends classes that are 19 percent black and Latino, while across town the average Latino student in the Alum Rock Union district attends a school that is 82 percent black and Latino.

This is entirely about economics (as Rin said). The locations that have the largest expensive neighborhoods, are going to be perceived in this way.

This will change with time (slowly), but it is a self reinforcing problem.

Quoted from the article above:

The average black student in California attends a school that is 82 percent students of color. The average Latino student attends a school that is 84 percent students of color. While historically Texas was more segregated than California, the report says the Golden State has moved backward faster. In fact, 7.3 percent of California's 10,000 schools are 99 percent nonwhite.

I wonder if the left in California ever scratch their heads on how it's possible for Texas to continue to have more income equality, less income and unemployment disparity between minorities and whites, less segregation in schools, better school performance and even better graduation rates despite less taxes and liberal policies.

I wonder if you've ever heard of this thing some of the kids are referring to as "the truth."

You probably shouldn't read those. It's probably left wing propaganda. Facts and logic are nothing more than the tools that liberals use to deprive of us our lies.

Kress, crowning himself the Dallas king of school data, didn’t notice from the vantage point of his board seat in 1995 that only 4,674 Dallas seniors graduated when the freshmen class contained 13,553 students. Soon to be school board president Kress, always the master of the known universe, saw nothing strange in Dallas ISD’s reported dropout figure of 3.1%. Not to be outdone by the Houston Miracle, Dallas ISD’s reported dropout figure took another drop in 1996 to only 1.8% when the ninth grade class was just as large and the number of graduating seniors just as small. No one at Texas Education Agency read the Dallas dropout figures and called them out as a hoax. The Dallas Morning News, always the helpful daily Babbitt, gleefully reported the lowered dropout rate without even blushing.

I guess lies and fraud are one way to get the job done.

Seems like the great liberal plans dont work out as intended. So you
find excuses like the one above. You failed... face it.

The crazy thing about Liberals is that everything they complain about is limited to their own backyard. Everything that they wish for is already happening elsewhere.

You guys are confused, this is not a conservative vs liberal thing.

The real conservative Whitopia is in Idaho, where yes, the cost of housing is low but at the same time, it's over 90% white. And yes, it's a Red state. Ppl who flock to these areas do like a white majority society.

On the other hand, anywhere else with high housing costs, like Boston-to-DC or California, it's *the rich get richer* society where yes, White/Asians form the majority.

It's good to have money because money buys one a higher standard of living and thus, happiness.

Liberals are the biggest racists.

Public employee unions are destroying America.

Latino is not a race. Hello.
