I came across this blog post about the recent FedEx shooting in Georgia:
http://market-ticker.org/akcs-www?post=228969

The author is dead certain that the reason the shooting happened at the FedEx plant is because there's a prominently displayed no weapons policy near the front entrance.

I got banned from that forum for suggesting that the shooter's motivations are unknowable, since he's dead. I was looking for some discussion, but I guess they're an echo chamber over there where you have to repeat the author's speculations.

I think that once a person reaches the level of crazy that's required to go shoot up innocent people, it's pointless to try to understand his motivations based on normal human rationale.

That being said, the recent armed mass murders have all been in places with no weapons policies, with schools being another fine example, and ironically, Fort Hood, where the soldiers aren't allowed to carry guns inside.

So, what do you guys think? Does disarming places where lots of people congregate cause gunmen to target those places?

Absolutely.

James Holmes chose the one movie theater within 20 minutes of his home (skipping both the closest theater just a mile away and largest theater in Colorado) which had a posted no-guns policy requiring Colorado (shall-issue) concealed carry permit holders to leave their guns behind or go elsewhere.

Yes it creates murder monopolies.

So then where are all the airport shootings? Weapons aren't allowed there either.

And what about court houses?
