Shoppers inside a Mall in Escondido, California U.S. retailers last quarter suffered their darkest days since the recession. With results in from 62 of 122 retail chains, the industry has posted its first profit quarterly drop since the economic contraction that ended in 2009, according to Retail Metrics Inc. Revenue also rose at the lowest rate since that year, the research firm found. The results paint a grim picture of an industry hit hard by the sluggish job recovery and slow wage growth, which have turned "U.S. consumers into a nation of PENNY PINCHERS". Earnings are expected to drop 6.1...

I know a man who lost a first grader - stop and think what that little boy went through in his last very scared minutes of life. My mom lives in CT - I know this family personally. There is no sandy hook hoax. Just stop the bullshit - its wrong. what are you trying to prove - you think there needs to be a SH hoax to prove something? children were shot down in a classroom. You seem to be kinda perverted pushing this.

Has it slowed, Bubba? It has been years since I have visited that area.

Before 2008 I could come home every day because all of my work was local , now the only thing that keeps me working is green energy out in the the high desert....Cali is mandated 30% green energy by 2020

Fashion Island is actually packed whenever I am there. So is South Coast Plaza. But these are the enclaves of the well-to-do and foreign tourism. The more middle class malls like Irvine Spectrum, Cerritos, Mission Viejo, etc., are all struggling like never before, although empty store fronts are on the decline and home grown businesses are getting kicked out in place of chains moving back in.

I work very closely with the three big mall property corporations and travel all the malls from OC up to the Valley on a pretty regular basis. The really bad times hit in 2008 after the stock market crash and never really recovered, in terms of traffic and spending, in the 'B' malls. December and January were brutal YoY comp stores for most retailers in these areas.

That reflects the problems that Wall Street thinks is weather related. We have a surprise for them don't we, Phil?

I laugh every day when I hear the weather excuse... Even Mr. Yellen today said the downturn is weather related... We'll see...

I'm afraid to admit it but the weather seems to be getting worst...
