If you were given two choices...

You have no money, no car, no assets and just pair of clothes, shoes, socks and a jacket...

You can either choose $1000 dollars worth of a ShotGun plus ammo or a $1000 dollars worth of gold/silver coins...

Which one would you choose?

You are living in a world with no money for yourself, no welfare, people won't even spare you a dime out of their fat wallets full of hundreds, nobody will give you a job...

You are homeless. No homeless shelter will help you.

In this scenario...

I would choose a Shotgun with as much ammo as possible.

The gold and will silver if sold will provide cash for maybe food for only 3-4 months.

Afterwards you will be fucked. There is no food stamps, nobody has any empathy for you as a man and you can starve to death as far as society is concerned.

The Shotgun on the other hand can be used to only protect yourself on the streets but can be used to acquire resources albeit forcibly but nonetheless it will give you some power.

You just need to be careful how you use it and need some planning as much as you can.
