October is National Bullying Prevention Month in the US, as determined by the National Bullying Prevention Center in Minnesota. Their efforts to encourage communities on a national scale to address bullying through creative, relevant ad interactive resources is admirable, but do they stand a chance of eradicating bullies in the US? After all, bullying is a national pastime here. The Resident (aka Lori Harfenist) discusses.

More like it encourages psychopathic traits of selfishness, individuality, egotism, and worth dependent on results not means. This makes it easy for psychopaths to get ahead and be socially acceptable, since the culture is rewarding them for the very dysfunction they display. Someday this may change, but it's about as bad right now as it's ever been.

Quigley, you describe the sad state of contemporary American culture quite well. Unfortunately, we've been that way for much of our history. Slavery, robber barons, the genocide of the natives, etc.
