Interesting to quote from Venezuelan news even though it has zilch to do with us.

I made a comment about Hitler.

I confused the Daily Mail, where the Lord who owned it during the 30s was a fascist sympathizer, a correspondent with Hitler, and encouraged Britons to join the Blackshirts led by Mosley, a British fascist group, with the Daily Telegraph.

So I deleted the comment.

That being said, here's Venezuelas GDP growth. Note Chavez takes office in 1999, and the country has been continually governed by a left-wing coalition since that year, except for a few days of coup leaders in 2004.

Controlling the prices of basic foodstuffs while taking every advantage of a commodity spike to invest in public works has been amazing for VZ. The GDP exploded 400% in little more than a decade.

Socialism is alive & well in the U.S with Republicans on some kind of govt. assistance,payroll or subsidy.
