The driver of an SUV involved in a bloody weekend confrontation with a throng of motorcyclists was put in grave danger and feared for the life of his family when he drove through the crowd, striking a biker on the street, his wife said Thursday.

Rosalyn Ng said in a statement that she and her husband, Alexian Lien, had been planning to celebrate their wedding anniversary with their 2-year-old daughter on Sunday afternoon, but instead they were swarmed by a motorcycle rally on Manhattan's West Side Highway.

Dozens of bikers rode alongside the couple's black Range Rover until a biker slowed down and the vehicles bumped, police said. Video captured at the scene shows the SUV surrounded by dozens of helmeted riders. One approaches the vehicle and peers into the driver's side window. Police said others tried to damage the SUV before Lien takes off, plowing over a rider. The bikers give chase and Lien is eventually stopped, pulled from the SUV and beaten, police said. He required stitches.

My only desperate wish here is for accurate information. At some point tires may have been slashed but its not apparent in the video if or when that happened. The driver was understandably in a panic so who knows if his memory of events is accurate.

O.K., you win. It's all a conspiracy. Every major news source is lying. The bikers never attacked the family. They just passed the SUV and kept riding. Therefore there was nobody blocking the SUV's way, so nobody got run over. And they all lived happily ever after.

Enjoy your fantasy.

Lying? No. Accurately reporting inaccurate facts? Maybe.

You on the other hand are grossly extrapolating my minor criticism of the events as reported to fantasy land.

I think this might be the first time I "liked" a posting by Homeboy.

If this scenario had happened:

Biker brake checks SUV. All the other bikers pull over to the side of the road(maybe a few stay out to stop oncomming traffic) and go check on their friend.

I might be inclined as driver of SUV to pull over and call 911 reporting biker down. Due to numbers and the VERY OBVIOUS POSSIBLE DANGER(If you don't think theres a danger here you are extremely naive) I would not get out of the SUV.

But thats not what happened now is it?

I would have done the exact same thing the SUV driver did except I also would have started taking out bikers as they chased me. Theres a reason Alex Lien is not being charged with a crime.

My neighbor ended up having four kids from three different guys who all ended up in prison.

The one in hospital, already had 2 kids so Lord Darwin was late.

I have to think biker jerks with COPS in their gang, are absolutely going to act even more like jerks. Thinking whatever they do, their cop buddies will back them up.

The panicky SUV driver was an investment banker, a VP at Credit Suisse. Just Google Credit Suisse and financial fraud, and you'll get the idea. This parasite on humanity should have been pulled apart by the bikes, and left for the crows to eat.

But if the bikers did not know that when the confrontation occurred, then they must be held responsible for any crimes which they committed.

For all the bikers knew, the family in the SUV could have been innocent, and not investment bankers.

59   Blurtman   2013 Oct 5, 9:26am

"For all the bikers knew, the family in the SUV could have been innocent, and not investment bankers."

But since they guessed right, they can be let off the hook. The average $50,000 earning (and dropping) family is not going to be tooling around town in a $100,000 car. And as they will be closer in social class to the bikers, they likely would not have had such an irrational fear of these citizens, created by the gaping chasm separating their respective classes, and the fear demonstrated by the trophy wife, over the oppressed masses finally turning on looting parasites like her husband.

"Mieses was recently arrested in Andover, Mass., for driving with a revoked license. According to police and records with the Massachusetts Registry of Motor Vehicles, Mieses hasn't had a valid license or permit to drive in the state since 1999. He also never applied for a motorcycle license.

The records show that in June he was named a habitual offender and his right to drive in the state was revoked until 2017. It isn't clear if he had been licensed in any other state. His attorney had no comment."

"Mieses and the others seen on the video were participating in a periodic rally in which more than 1,000 bikers head for Times Square, police have said. There were dozens of calls about reckless driving, 15 other arrests and 55 motorcycles confiscated."

You can launder drug money for a murdering Mexican cartel, admit it, and do zero jail time. If you are from the 1%. It is undeniable that there is a two-tiered justice system in the USA. Folks are chronically unemployed because of financial criminals who crashed the economy. And we are told that as this recession has been caused by a financial meltdown, it will take quite long to resolve itself. Meanwhile, the police in NYC will harass and shoot to death street venders suspected of swindling tourists out of pocket change, while nearby, criminal bankers remain untouched as they loot billions.

As the US government refuses to enforce the law, it is up to citizens to do what made this country great. Take the law into your own hands, frontier-urban justice. Yank those banker criminals out of their expensive SUV's and beat the crap out of them.

68   Homeboy   2013 Oct 5, 5:24pm

No I was not there. Presumably neither were you. The slashing cannot be seen in the video. The reporter quoted the police who themselves were quoting a witness or may have found puncture marks in the tire. Or the police may just be wrong, it wouldn't be the first time. A witness may have seen or thought to have seen someone attempting to slash a tire or perhaps a post-incident inspection of the car revealed slashed tires which may have happened at the end of the chase.

My point is that if these were normal tires which had been slashed the family would not have been able to drive away in the manner seen on the video.

yeah. I can see you have a real rational viewpoint on what happened in that biker gang versus SUV driver incident...

you are a complete dumbfuck! 100%.

Yes, it is clear that these ideas threaten your primitve brain, and as you frequently do when your limited processing capabilites ae overwhelmend, you feel threatened, and lash out. I get it.

No one wants frontier justice, but when there is a blatant two-tiered justice system in a country, when the government is in league with criminals whose actions destroy the lives of millions, it is an understandable course of action. Yes, innocent people are always hurt. Innocent cowboys were hung as cattle rustlers in the wild West. Innocent people were guillotined during the French Revolution. But it really is time to start killing the banksters.

4 guys arrested for gang assault so far. Mieses family says that he was not doing anything wrong, and that he was trying to get the other riders to leave the family alone when he was run over. How would they know?
By parking in front of the SUV, he is trying to keep the gangsters from assaulting the driver or his family? Maybe he really was the good guy, but if he was such a family man, why is he not with his family instead of out breaking the law and running with his gangster buddies.

People lie so prolifically these days.

Cop at the scene who did nothing?, anyone surprised?, if I was the gangster cop at the first sign of anyone doing anything even close to wrong I would have left the gang and made a phone call. Same for anyone who stuck around as things heated up - should have left and either reported the incident or just go back to your hood.

Look, the SUV driver was acting upon official US government policy. The US Justice(?) Department has communicated to the 1% that there is a separate set of laws that will be applied to them. The SUV driver knows that he can launder Mexican drug cartel money where he works at Credit Suisse, not go to jail, and earn a nice bonus. The SUV driver knows that the Negranics he ran over will go to jail, even for life, if they sell dugs supplied by the very same Mexican drug cartels. He knows whose side the NYC cops and politicians are on, and whose side the corporate media is on. No brainer. Hit the gas! The 99% make a delightful crunching sound.

75   Blurtman   2013 Oct 6, 9:02am

Note the clever word smithing, designed to deflect. Clearly jailing criminal money laundering banking executives would not bring down the bank, let alone the financial system. There'd be thousands of parasites clamoring to fill the vacancies. So if the preposterous idea that criminal prosecution would bring down the world's financial system is untrue, then what is the justification for not jailing banking executives who laundered money for the Mexican drug cartels, while the poor schmuck who sells the cartel's drugs is jailed without batting an eye?

"Those findings echo those of a Congressional report, issued in July, which said that between 2001 and 2010, HSBC exposed the American “financial system to money laundering and terrorist financing risks.” Prosecutors and Congressional investigators were also alarmed by indications that senior HSBC officials might have been complicit in the illegal activity and that the bank did not tighten its lax controls against money laundering even after repeated urgings from federal officials.

Yet government officials will argue that it is counterproductive to levy punishment so severe that a bank could be destroyed in the process. That may be true as far as it goes. But if banks operating at the center of the global economy cannot be held fully accountable, the solution is to reduce their size by breaking them up and restricting their activities — not shield them and their leaders from prosecution for illegal activities."

Anyone from the Bank of America go to jail? How can that be in a country that has an evenly applied system of justice?

"At least Bank of America got its name right. The ultimate Too Big to Fail bank really is America, a hypergluttonous ward of the state whose limitless fraud and criminal conspiracies we'll all be paying for until the end of time. Did you hear about the plot to rig global interest rates? The $137 million fine for bilking needy schools and cities? The ingenious plan to suck multiple fees out of the unemployment checks of jobless workers? Take your eyes off them for 10 seconds and guaranteed, they'll be into some shit again: This bank is like the world's worst-behaved teenager, taking your car and running over kittens and fire hydrants on the way to Vegas for the weekend, maxing out your credit cards in the three days you spend at your aunt's funeral. They're out of control, yet they'll never do time or go out of business, because the government remains creepily committed to their survival, like overindulgent parents who refuse to believe their 40-year-old live-at-home son could possibly be responsible for those dead hookers in the backyard."

Carjacking spree in New York City
http://www.myfoxny.com/story/22521813/7-carjackings-in-staten-island-brooklyn
Posted: Jun 06, 2013

NEW YORK (MYFOXNY) -
Seven carjackings in Staten Island and Brooklyn last month could be part of a crime pattern, according to the NYPD.

All the cars targeted were late model luxury vehicles like Mercedes, BMWs and Range Rovers.

In each incident, the thieves jumped into a running car and drove off. All the vehicles were stolen after 11 p.m.

The most recent carjacking was on May 31 on Staten Island.

As many as four men were involved in each carjacking. Three occurred at a gas station and one at a car wash.

In two incidents, the thieves jumped into the car after the driver got out following a fender bender.

84   Vicente   2013 Oct 7, 5:57am

These bikers were behaving like THUGS and an OUTLAW GANG, and attempts to smear the SUV driver are idiotic.

Clearly the SUV occupants were on the phone 3 times. As the confrontation escalated did any of the pursuing bikers call 911? No they set off with their gang to inflict their own justice.

You ever try to drive on a flat tire? Any flat would have been shredded within a minute the way that SUv was going. The driver would likely have lost control at some point.

Electronic driver aid systems on modern cars are pretty good at keeping vehicle stable even with one or more tires on glaring ice or flat. RR are among the most advanced in this regard so I won't be surprised if driver was able to maintain control even with one naked rim.
