"Money, so they say
Is the root of all evil
Today
But if you ask for a rise
It's no surprise that they're
Giving none away"
Greed, not money, is the root of all evil. All evil ultimately comes from people valuing their own will and desires above other people's rights, and that is the most basic form of greed.
Money is just a tool, and as a tool, money is neither good nor evil except how we acquire it and use it.
It depends. Money also offers emancipation and is a key vehicle for self sufficiency. Thus, it is a conduit for individuality and all around independence that is unlikely to be found in collectivist societies.
I just sold a modest-to-small amount of stock to pay off my credit card. My wife wanted to "divert" the money, but I was adamant that we pay that stupid card off.
We actually fought a little bit about it.
I paid off my credit card and did it make me happy? Not as much as I thought it would.
