RIGHT TO TAKE WORKERS MONEY...

http://www.bostonherald.com/news/opinion/op_ed/view/20221212right_to_take_workers_/

....."In Michigan yesterday, things got worse. Teachers abandoned their own classrooms to rally for the right not-to-work. Union members outside the state capitol attacked members of Americans for Prosperity, a pro-right-to-work law group.

“Our tent was ripped down by union activists actually tearing it down with knives, with people inside it,” AFP communications director Levi Russell told the Daily Caller website. Union supporters continued to stomp on the tent, despite the fact that there were people still trapped in it.

“We had been contacted by that group that they had three or four people that were actually trapped underneath the tent,” said Michigan state police Lt. Mike Shaw. “Two of them were in wheelchairs and there was also a propane tank in there.”

When Scott Hagerstrom, AFP’s Michigan director, stepped up to his own microphone to speak out, union members shouted him down and banged pots and pans.

“I believe the freedom of speech is sacred,” Hagerstrom said. “Shut the (bleep) up!” screamed union members, drowning him out.

Do union members truly not see the irony of waving “Fight For Democracy!” signs as they try to block democratically-elected legislators from voting?

IT would not be surprising if the supposed "activists" were hired by the same people who who hired the members of Americans for prosperity.

Here's another gem, this time from the big, bad purple people eaters, the SEIU...

http://money.cnn.com/2010/05/19/news/companies/SEIU_Bank_of_America_protest.fortune/index.htm

....."Why the media wasn't invited

Sunday's onslaught wasn't designed for mainstream media consumption. There were no reporters from organizations like the Washington Post, no local camera crews who might have aired criticism of this private-home invasion. With the media covering the conservative Tea Party protesters, the behavior of individual activists has drawn withering scrutiny.

Instead, a friendly Huffington Post blogger showed up, narrowcasting coverage to the union's leftist base. The rest of the message these protesters brought was personal-aimed at frightening Baer and his family, not influencing a broader public.

Of course, HuffPost readers responding to the coverage assumed that Baer was an evil former Bush official. He's not. A lifelong Democrat, Baer worked for the Clinton Treasury Department, and his wife, Shirley Sagawa, author of the book The American Way to Change and a former adviser to Hillary Clinton, is a prominent national service advocate.

In the 1990s, the Baers' former bosses, Bill and Hillary Clinton, denounced the "politics of personal destruction." Today politicians and their voters of all stripes grieve the ugly bitterness that permeates our policy debates. Now, with populist rage providing a useful cover, it appears we've crossed into a new era: The politics of personal intimidation

Fox News Steven Crowder & Americans for Prosperity use Breitbart-style film editing to show “union thug brutality”

http://www.eclectablog.com/2012/12/fox-news-steven-crowder-americans-for-prosperity-use-breitbart-style-film-editing-to-show-union-thug-brutality.html

"This video is actually a composite of a things that happened over the course of the day, many of them hours apart. The initial conversation happened early in the morning. At about 0:16, it cuts to Crowder saying, “You’ve already destroyed one tent, leave this one alone.” That happened hours after the interview with the union workers that starts the segment. The guy he’s talking to is standing quite a distance from the tent but Crowder insists that he’s somehow tearing down the tent.

Selective editing at about 0:39 mark shows what appears to be union guy attacking Crowder for no apparent reason. However, if you look closely, you’ll see that the guy is getting up off the ground — that he was NOT the one that became aggressive first."

and

"For those who have accused me of defending violence by union members, I don’t. It pisses me off to no end that these people allowed themselves to be manipulated by Americans for Prosperity and Fox News and incited into doing stupid shit that gives ALL union members a bad name even though the stupid shit was done by only a small handful out of the 15,000+ people that attended the rally and behaved perfectly calm.

That said, there is no question in my mind whatsoever that AFP and Fox employees set out to incite a huge crowd of very angry people. My wife Anne spoke to a number of union members yesterday who spoke about their fear of the future. They are barely making ends meet now and, with the passage of Right to Work for Less laws, they will now have even less of an opportunity to improve their situation. They are afraid and they are angry and Americans for Prosperity sticking their thumb into their eye fans the flames. "

This 'fear' sounds like the story that many non-union families are already going through. Listen, I don't hate unions. If they can persuade workers on an open market, an even playing field that joining them will benefit them, let the marketplace decide. In essence, let workers CHOOSE! Choice is freedom. Choice benefits consumers and workers alike. In states that force workers pay union dues or join a union they don't want to belong to, is not CHOICE. It's SUBMISSIVE and OPPRESIVE. Shame on Obama for inciting these union thugs.

Anyone know if the fist slinger is a Republican union member?
Someone tell me that there aren't any Rep. union members.

USA should pull its embassies and consulates from China until they have elections and legalize unions.

We are all guilty of not reading tags on our consumer products
Selective shopping can be a protest in itself...

No kidding, BBR.

My suits?

Hart Schaffner & Marx - made in the USA!

The thing is even if you have stuff built custom here - clothing, computers, etc - there are going to be Chinese componentry like sub-boards and fabrics.

It's insidious.

I should call HSM and see where the fabric is made.

You wear suits? I thought more like chain armours.

Fox News Contributor Gets Punched In Face, Edits Out Part Where He Started Fight (VIDEO)

"Boy, those liberal union types sure are violent! Fox has used the phrase “union thugs” about 40 million times in the last couple of days. But there’s a problem with this video; it leaves out the part where Crowder knocks the guy to ground before he gets punched in the face. Here’s the unedited video, ironically from The Sean Hannity Show (skip to 1:20):"

Great! Now the unions have to offer a reason for people to join rather than commanding them to join.

Welcome to competition.

Maybe the fight was started when Crowder was trying to help those in the tent, and got pulled back from the collarby the union thugs? You mean the same saintly union guys NOT allowing Crowder and others to help those that got hurt when the unions took down the tent?

Care to comment as to why the union THUGS took down that tent? Or those women and children in that tent that were hurt and terrorized? Mission accomplished by these union thugs.

I obviously know that all Union members aren't thugs. But the ones that show up to protest are obviously paid, hired thugs to intimidate. They go over the top. They also took the bait of Crowder for some good video. What, you didn't think Fox would take advantage of this? This is a given, just like how the rest of the media spiked (or whitewashed) this story. Imagine if this violence was at a Tea Party rally? Holy shit, you'd never hear the end of it. They had these events under a microscope, and had nothing to report.

The Unions are obviously pissed because their lazy, gravy train is OVER! Unrealistic, unsustainable, above-the-norm wages are OVER. Political manipulation is not over but lessened.

14   kentm   2012 Dec 15, 10:53pm

The narrative of the union thugs smashing the tents has been debunked as well. Flog your BS somewhere else, on some Fox News or drudge message board.

Wages... Why aren't you complaining that everyone's wages should come UP to union levels? Instead you want to drag everyone down into the poverty levels of Walmart. What are you thinking? Have you so completely lost your sense of fight that the only way to go is down? Study after study has shown that worker wages and the recirculating of money from common working people is the engine of growth, no study has ever shown tat knocking people into poverty in order to enrich corporate profits is the way to build a solid economy.

You're in fantasyland. Stop it.
