During his speech to the Democratic National Convention in Charlotte, N.C., former President Bill Clinton repeated a talking point often used by Democrats to tout President Barack Obama’s record on job creation.

"In the last 29 months," Clinton said, "our economy has produced about 4.5 million private-sector jobs."

Yes Jobs are hot, right now. Why everyone is partying like it's 1999.
The stock market is up, average household wealth is up, savings is up.
Inflation is low, gas is cheap, food is plentiful healthy and above all affordable. Foodstamp recipients are at an all time low, college enrollment is at 20 year peak. Companies can't find enough college grads to fill the positions for skilled educated employees.

Can you smell it?

Poli-fact did okay after the link. One thing I'd love to see mentioned is that we need to create about 150,000 jobs per month to stay even (young people who should be entering the work force, and immigrants).

AND, not every job is a middle class one. In fact, in the last decade, 80% of new jobs have been in fields where average pay is under $12/hour, and in the service industry. Almost all the middle class jobs created were in the Public Sector (Firefighters, Civil Engineers, Teachers, etc.)

By Gallup's measure, 41% of Americans were employed in 2011; in 2010, it was 44% and so far this year it has hovered around 43%. That's markedly lower than the government's estimated employment-to-population ratio of 58%, which reflects both full-timers and part-timers. It has hovered at about the same rate since at least last July.
