This joker,
"Meet Darren Flenoy, a Bay Area security guard who lives 40 miles from work. Gas costs him about $500 a month. His car payment is another $500. On top of that, he spends $80 per month on insurance and $180 on tolls.

In total, Darren’s commute costs him half of his monthly income. He must work seven days a week to make ends meet."
Actually according to his sign it's over $500.

I just bought a CX9 and based on the income I'm making now, I could easily afford a his and hers matching set. How ever I was very adamant that I was not paying one penny over $500 a month and got the car down so the numbers worked. I got it for 0% interest to boot.
I've always been a $5K beater buyer, this time around I went on ahead and pulled the trigger for a couple reasons. For $5K I didn't see anything that didn't look like it would be as good of service as the Honda Passport had been for the last 8 years. The second reason, I have a MPV and it has been a solid car, and I noticed there aren't a lot of used Mazdas for sale, people tend to keep them.

But if I couldn't afford the $500 a month I certainly would have found something in my budget. I certainly wouldn't buy a car that took all I make. Gas prices is the least of this guys problem, he's got fiscal prudence issues.

And in 4 years just one year short the payoff date, if you see my sniveling that I took a pay cut and can no longer afford those hefty monthly face slaps. Just tell me, "You shouldn't have bought anything you couldn't write a check for."

Don't make it about the cost of gas, because that's an excess investment energy gouging greed issue our Government condones.

If the jobs are getting further away from where you live, it's time to rethink the assholes you vote in as your Representative. You might want to start a rabble at the "community development" office at City Hall, and take ahead with Carol, that cunt is selling your community out the back door to land developers while chasing business out of town, by voting measures that runs business out of town.

So quit blaming machines, you don't have an auto problem if you did you would need an Auto mechanic not a Blog. You have a leadership problem, the same leadership that is feeding you the line of BS, that you have to pay $5.00 at the pump for gas, because there's nothing better to replace it right now.

I already commented on this in the Link Submissions area.

A security guard with a $515/month car payment is a total moron.

One of the benefits of renting: you can move to where the jobs are.

I want to know exactly what make and model car he drives as well. I bet it's a Lexus or Cadillac.
