I'm convinced that my fellow human being can almost always certainly be counted upon to push the envelope when it comes to fiscal responsibility. If one has little "skin" in the game, the risk model changes.
One of my friends lives on the street that a "makeover" occurred in Livermore and said after all the construction confusion with trucks parked in neighbors driveways and the press vans, it was a total nightmare ... and ... the house looks totally out of place with its neighbors now.
Look at these people, given a great house and the property tax paid for 25 years. My wife and I watch this show and it blows my mind that someone would take out 450k that they could never repay and blow it, they had it so good no mortgage and 25 years of not paying taxes.
