Ahead of the vote, Rep. Thomas Massie (R-Ky.), decried the legislation as a political “sticky trap” to exploit progressive fractures.
Massie also groused about the series of resolutions defending Israel and condemning Jew hatred that the House has taken up since the Oct. 7, 2023, attack by Hamas.
“None of them actually get to anything real. I think it’s a political ping-pong game,” Massie said during a House Rules Committee debate on the resolution Monday.
“I call them sticky traps designed to split the Democrat Party and get them stuck in the sticky trap. And I’ve gotten stuck in almost every one of them myself, because I believe absolutely in the First Amendment.”
What SHOULD be done is defunding PBS and/or Woke Colleges. You know, what the GOP promises every term for the past 30 years and has controlled the House over 3/4 of that time.
Eliminating government subsidies for college degrees except for the very top HS performers pursuing STEM degrees and the GI Bill. Something actually fing useful. Imagine Academia and the Media having to defend the "Great Value" of subsidizing $80k college liberal arts educations right now.
By the way, what is the New Right vs. Old Right vs. Neocon vs. Libertarian fracture line? The Dems are smart and the RINOs are going along with it - on purpose. Not incompetence. This is to distract from the Dems fault lines fracturing and widening, to disunite the Right and weaken Trump.
