EXCLUSIVE: The DeSantis Plan To Wage War on ‘Weaponized’ DOJ

Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis has been working for months on plans to tear down and rebuild both the Department of Justice and the FBI, consulting with experts and members of Congress to develop a “Day One” strategy to end what conservatives see as the weaponization of the justice system.

The governor has privately told advisors that he will hire and fire plenty of federal personnel, reorganize entire agencies, and execute a “disciplined” and “relentless” strategy to restore the Justice Department to a mission more in line with what the “Founding Fathers envisioned.”

But his ambitions go beyond bureaucratic restructuring. He wants to physically remove large swathes of the DOJ from the District of Columbia, including FBI headquarters, RealClearPolitics is first to report.

“We’re not going to let all this power accumulate in Washington, we’re going to break up these agencies,” DeSantis said during a private strategy session over the weekend, excerpts of which were obtained exclusively by RCP. He vowed in that call to order “some of the problematic components of the DOJ” be uprooted, reorganized, and then promptly “shipped to other parts of the country.”

This fits with one of the central themes of the DeSantis campaign, namely that he’d be “an energetic executive,” a president with the focus and attention to detail necessary to make the most of his Article II powers. On the stump, the governor regularly wins applause from primary voters for promising not just to wage war on the so-called deep state, but to end it.

The goal, according to senior outside advisors, ought to be returning the DOJ and FBI to a more limited “pre-9/11” mission. Republicans were outraged last Friday when former President Trump was indicted for mishandling classified documents. DeSantis has condemned that move, and his campaign scheduled the Saturday conference call “not knowing,” he told advisors, that there would be “news last night.” But the governor is also intimately familiar with conservative gripes about political bias inside President Biden’s Department of Justice. They have been central to his campaign.

“We’ve seen throughout this country that the DOJ and the FBI are controlled by one faction of our society,” DeSantis said on the call, pointing to how those agencies were “going after pro-life activists,” wrongfully investigating parents at school board meetings “who are concerned about things like critical race theory, and forcing kids to wear masks,” and “colluding with tech companies to censor information such as what they did with the 2020 election.”

DeSantis has assembled a brain trust of academics, members of Congress, and former administration officials to draw up step-by-step blueprints for tearing the DOJ and FBI down to the studs for a rebuild.

I don't believe that for a minute. He's done nothing but protected the Liberal apparatus in every Liberal city in Florida and when a Conservative wins an election in Broward. DeSantis has stepped in and prevented them from taking office. He's a Debbie Wasserman Shultz stooge when it comes to Broward. He ran Donna Brazile out of town, but failed to investigate her decades long vote fixing, and allowed it to infect other Cities in America.
He is solely responsible for the 2020 election outcome. He could have shut that down in 2018 when he came in office. But he did NOT!
2   FortwayeAsFuckJoeBiden   2023 Jun 14, 11:19am

how is he going to do that? he never showed interest in this in the past…

i do support idea, i just don’t believe anyone would do that. when people work toward a goal all their life you can see it. but random bs about desantis out if nowhere doing that sounds like total bullshit

Wow - whole new world of Trump excuses right there!

What pray tell was Trump doing from 2016-2020 leading up to the election to ferret out all of this voter fraud?

I remember Trump was busy kissing up to Kanye and the Kardashians thinking he could win the Black vote by going all BLM before BLM was a thing.

Trump did win in 2020.

Unless you believe 25.5 million new voters registered for 2020, which they would have had to do.

going to be hard cause there are so many democrat ideologues that are burrowed within the federal bureaucracy and now they are making their moves on the pentagon .... think the bruce ohr's, eric anthony ciramella's, andy mccabe's, lisa page's, etc.

problem is pentagon means arduous duty like getting deployed for 4 months at sea or getting shot at in a combat zone ... so the real heavy shit ain't going to be sought out by the social justice warriors and drag queens....

...

It's the Deep State throwing bait worms to beguile the conservative base, not DeSantis getting rid of his sponsors the Deep State. DeSantis has to do something massively substantive for such credibility, and tell Jeb Bush and the American Globalist Nazi Party to go suck wind and own their crimes, which he will never do.

He's not in the office, so that's not really a win. Real winners get a recount or re-vote when an election is stolen from them.

Stop pretending we have a legal.or judicial system.

There is no remedy but revolution at this point.

I suspect they are pushing for it so they can just default on everything.

That would explain why they are so blatantly criminal

Real winners do the above even if they don't have a legal or judicial system. It's the popular support and leadership skills that matter in these situations. Winners win, losers talk.

DeSantis already has a long record of massive and substantive conservative accomplishments. He doesn't just run his mouth.

What else are you asking for - some sort of Tribunal to root out American Nazis (RINOs) or some shit?

If that's not done, the country will collapse. It's going to collapse anyhow. We have 30 trillion dollars in debt, and 330 million Americans. That's $100,000 per American. that will double in less than 8 years, and double again in another 8 years.

What will happen is the debt will continue to balloon until other nations simply stop accepting the dollar as a payment for anything.

Hyperinflation is a political event. It doesn't happen UNTIL other nations simply start saying "nope" to those as cash payment. It's at this point our nation will have to actually start making stuff in order to receive stuff.

The US has been going around threatening anybody that goes off the dollar, they've been doing this for 20 years. finally, nations are fed up with this. The US just stole Russian money, and China and India are watching this. You can bet the US will confiscate their funds in someway as well.

Our expenses as a nation is spent on abject corruption. Our budget this year is 6 TRILLION dollars or so last I've heard. Where is this money going to? Not infrastructure, not education, not anything. I'm just so sick of it.

Nothing will change no matter who is in power. Trump did nothing for the deficit either.

Until financial collapse the populace won't care for fiscal responsibility, and that is why Congress is a reflection of that fact.
18   Ceffer   2023 Jun 14, 7:48pm

The foreign occupied foreign city state of DC federal canard is already bankrupt, they just get extensions increasing the national debt to continue conducting business. A formal bankruptcy will occur at some point. Nominally, that is already in the works to puncture the FED and the fiat money system. A lot of the current frisson is about how that will be handled and by whom.

Absolutely true that Trump (and Rinos before him) did nothing on the deficit.

But it is not true when it comes to DeSantis and important cultural and education issues. While Trump helped normalize Tranny mental illness by celebrating Bruce Jenner, defending Disney and Bud-Light - DeSantis (and folks like Chris Rufo) have been waging a very effective war against the Alphabet Mafia that dominates our Corporations, Education and Government bureaucracy....

Not only does DeSantis pick important fights - he has a dedicated and experienced team able to work the system to win these fights legislatively and in the courts and not just pyrrhic victories through EO's that can be easily overturned.

I can sympathize with the Only-Trumper's argument about needing Trump to blow up the system........but we also need someone that has the experience and the team to out maneuver the venal bureaucrats and rebuild something new and better.

Trump has shown no interest and certainly has no team of competent people to do the important and difficult leg-work to reform our institutions.

He's unlikable. As silly as that sounds in comparison to Trump. He just looks like a pussy. A pushover. He'll lose strong independent women voters and men with an actual ball sack.

It will be Trump and we all know it. He fucked up covid massively. He was attacked from the word go. Desantis can have his time, but it ain't now or maybe ever. He likely took a risk that won't pay off. He can't beat Trump in the primaries. It's statistically impossible with the field. If Republicans were smart they'd just unite and skip the primary process.

Everyone running on the R side has a 30-40 year window based on the two that will likely be nominees in their 70's and 80's. I hate the old age, but they'll have their time at some point.

So we have become the retarded party? Just a bunch of Emo's who are going for style over substance abandoning our logic?

Let's see what the polls look like in a few months after some debates.

If Trump isn't too pussy to skip the debates, I can imagine DeSantis saying something like:

"Don - I love you and we agree on 98% of the issues. But we need to face the fact that you are incredibly toxic to the majority of the country. It is not fair and there is a double standard and I will work hard to dismantle our corrupt DOJ and restore your name, but we have to deal with the reality of the situation and can't afford to lose yet another election with all your massive drama and legal problems dragging the party down."

It would be one thing if Trump has spent the last 2 years working with Republican Governors and State Legislatures to tighten up our election system (as Florida already did) - but Trump doesn't appear to have the appetite or desire to do the hard work of governing and reforming our institutions. Apparently Trump would rather be golfing and inexplicably giving his enemies all the rope to hang him by getting caught on tape showing off highly classified documents.

Galaxy brain stuff!

Haha, the majority of the country will hate whatever the propaganda box tells them to hate. That's the only reason why.

If Trump "played ball" and expanded the wars, there wouldn't have been a problem. When he bombed Syria and Afghanistan, there was no limit to the praise heaped upon him.

I don't belong to any party. I vote for Republicans but also Democrats. Desantis doesn't have national staying power or popularity NOW. Maybe in 2028. Trump has 40+ years on him being in the public eye.

And yes, people vote by looks and hell even voice. This shit is all studied. I don't care how gimmicky Trump is, he tried getting done what he could. No POTUS has ever gotten everything they wanted done and he had all sorts of shit thrown at him.

Desantis handled covid appropriately. Trump did outside of not firing Fauci and the vaccine. That was a big fuck up. I just don't trust Desantis to not start a new war or get involved with boots on the ground in Ukraine. That ain't going away before 2024.

Fact is if you think Desantis can win the primary, you just gave Joe Biden a 2nd term. And this isn't just about POTUS. We need to clean up the Senate and House. You're going to lose 10 points easy to write in ballots for Trump. Or no shows which means giving Democrats Congress and Executive branch. That's the worst possible outcome.

Love him or hate him, you'll get the highest Republican turn out if Trump is the nominee. They will vote R down ballot. It's not about not liking Desantis. It's about the best probable outcome to not let Dems stack the courts and even add SCOTUS judges.

This assumes that there are more "Only-Trumpers" that will throw the election to a Democrat if Trump isn't the nominee than "Never-Trumpers" who didn't vote for him in 2016 and 2020?

Who is the statistically significant demographic that Trump failed to win in the past that he is going to win in 2024?

If we are going to fall back to voter fraud to explain 2020, what has Trump done to fix it before we vote next year instead of embarrassing himself with Sidney Powell and the "Kraken" B.S. ? Trump barely squeaked by in 2016 capturing lightening in a bottle against a hated candidate.

Voter fraud works on the margins. If it is not close, they can't cheat. DeSantis has shown that he can dramatically improve margins (with all races without having to pander to being soft on crime like Trump did) to win by double digits in Florida.

with the 50-50 or so split between D and R, voter fraud will always be able to throw a national election. Remember, in 2020, the Dems only needed to target 5 districts for ballot stuffing. In the AZ governor's race, they just needed to fraud Maricopa County. The best way for Repubs to win is to be sure they have a rep at all precincts to at least cut back on the same day fraud.

Totally agree about needing Republicans at all precincts and also using the same tools Democrats abuse like ballot harvesting where it is legal.

But Florida was a 50/50 state when DeSantis first won the governorship. Four years later he wins by 20 points.

Social Conservatism is at its highest point in a decade exceeding self identified Liberals. We are seeing a major backlash and successful boycott campaigns against woke corporations. DeSantis and other Republican Governors are showing the way by dismantling our Commie school boards and banning mutilation of children.
https://news.gallup.com/poll/506765/social-conservatism-highest-decade.aspx

Whereas, Trump has made it clear he has no interest in fighting culture wars. It is just a distraction against dealing with Trump's personal persecution and legal battles while ordinary Americans are getting fucked every day by the Liberal bureaucracy and Soros DA's - who were supported by Trump's foolish soft on crime First Step Act agenda.
