Look up a "magnet link" for a film you want to download. Currently oldtorrents.com is a good way to look those up. Click on the magnet icon.
That should bring up Transmission if you have it installed. Transmission will download the file from many other bittorrent users.
When it is finished, in anywhere from 10 minutes to an hour, then you should open VLC and click "Open Media..." and navigate to the largest file in the movie directory you just downloaded. The movie file will be somewhere around 1GB in size.
