"The number of billionaires has doubled since the start of the financial crisis, according to a major new report from anti-poverty campaigners.

According to Oxfam, the world’s rich are getting richer, leaving hundreds of millions of people facing a life “trapped in poverty” as global “inequality spirals out of control”.

The report found that the number of billionaires in the world has more than doubled to 1,646 since the financial crisis of 2009, and Oxfam says is evidence that the benefits of a return to economic growth are “not being shared with the vast majority”

Direct consequence of QE and bailouts. When you bail out the rich, the rich become richer.

I have been hoping that, given the witless self-serving actions by the parasitical elite, this kind of doubling rate will mean that we will all be billionaires by about 2030

"A shattering new study by two political science professors has found that ordinary Americans have virtually no impact whatsoever on the making of national policy in our country. The analysts found that rich individuals and business-controlled interest groups largely shape policy outcomes in the United States"
"The analysts found that when controlling for the power of economic elites and organized interest groups, the influence of ordinary Americans registers at a "non-significant, near-zero level." The analysts further discovered that rich individuals and business-dominated interest groups dominate the policymaking process. The mass-based interest groups had minimal influence compared to the business-based interest groups."

In their next study are they going to have a shattering discovery that the sun rises in the east? I mean isn't this something that is both obvious and has always been true?

As a candidate, you only need a campaign that pushes the buttons of enough sheeple, and that doesn't necessarily have to have anything to do with reality or how you will vote.

Obama: Tim Geithner, Lawrence Summers, "..the banks committed no crimes."

Change you can despair in.

Bob, let me know when they render unto you the ebola pandemic. I'm still waiting for the economic collapse. What good are Republicans if they can't even deliver their bread and butter themes?

I don't believe all republicans are homophobic, xenophic, racist, gun toting, low teeth to tatoo ratio, trailer inhabiting, neanderthal, sucking off the government while screaming about welfare hypocritical right wingnuts. I don't believe all homophobic, xenophic, racist, gun toting, low teeth to tatoo ratio, trailer inhabiting, neanderthal, sucking off the government while screaming about welfare, hypocritical right wingnuts are republicans. There is a high correlation but not absolute. In the interest of fairness to the 2 reasonable republicans left on the planet, as well as preserving my immaculate record for accuracy in writing, I will continue to use the term wingnut instead of republican.

Less so when the Democrats had a progressive wing and before Clinton turned the New Democrats into Republican Lite.
The 2008 election cycle is when Democrats finally achieved almost exact parity with Republicans in business PAC funding.
They both work for the same bosses now.

Whoa, whoa, wait a minute there bubba, we're supposed to be in a tailspin the MOMENT the end of QE was announced. The permabears, Libertarians, hyperinflationists, deflationary depressionists, and arch-christian Teabag apocalypse leghumpers all guaranfuckingteed it. Bob is on another thread demanding the wingnuts account for no ebola pandemic in Dallas, but I set my cap for an economic collapse. You guys promised me. You said we were gonna get it and you owe me.

I didn't promise anything, I am merely observing continued stagflation eroding the middle-class. And this is worse because it is not as obvious as a cathartic correction that actually reduces wealth disparity and takes the economy off of the Fed fiat and low interest rate spigot, but instead the wealth inequality keeps widening and makes the debt-serfs even more debt-drunk so they will claim again when the next crisis hits that they need to be bailed out, then rinse and repeat until there's mainly 1%ers and 47%ers left.

you'll get burned at the stake for that kind of honesty around here.

Popular opinion is, democrats are here to save us from the evil republicans. Lol

When will it start being this administration's fault?

15   anonymous   2014 Oct 30, 6:55am

What good would replacing republicans, with democrats do?

This is 2014. Im fairly certain, as a young, single white working class male, that I'd be even worse off if the dems had more power

Look at the reality of the situation. The democrats biggest win of late, was forcing heritage foundation care down our throats. All they had to do was slap obamas name on it and pretty much every last simple Simon fuckdemtard is a big-time cheerleader. And that's for "republican legislature"

That is how the anti war movement in America got demobilized.
Once The Anointed One was Commander in Chief, and he began administering the illegal foreign wars, everybody shut up and went home.

Not just that. Something else, possibly of greater importance happened as well. Prior to the 08 election , there was massive swell rising against "the evil corporations". And rightfully so.

Now that democrats forced heritage foundation care on us, and it bears Obama's name, all of a sudden, b forced participation in the bilking done by the worst of the evil corporations, is now a good thing. And the evil corporations sure seem to like this administration

Isn't the point of America to make enough money to buy the universe and blow up suns for entertainment?

No. The point of America is to steal enough money so that maximum pain can be inflicted on the many, at the hands of the politically privileged
