Obama wanted to bring the detainees here, to New York even, to have those prisoners tried in our court system. It just couldn't be done, no one would allow it. It would mean giving these prisoners rights in our court system. OMG!!!!!!!

If the prisoners were brought here George Bush Junior, and Dick Cheney would also be open to investigation, and probably subpoenaed.

He can't close the base because no one will take the prisoners, or the United States won't allow those prisoners to leave.

Most right thinking Americans recognize the problem of Guantanamo Bay and are thrilled to have Obama cornered. We'll see what happens, but the only solution is to try these people in open court, with rights, as Obama has suggested.

Then the Obama administration murders that reporter's son, who had nothing whatsoever to do with the news along with several other children while they were eating dinner. None of the kids had ever harmed anyone.

That's pretty fucking evil. But as long as some asshole, Robert Gibbs, slanders the victims by calling them terrorists, it's ok. Robert Gibbs should be blown up by a drone along with his children. I heard he's a terrorist from the mothers of some dead children in Afghanistan.

In addition to drone strikes, a rise in illegal (warrantless) wiretapping and the NDAA Obummer also trumped Bush in federal raids on Marijuana dispensaries across the nation, Bush left the states pretty much alone on that one. The federal drug laws are unconstitutional if a state chooses to legalize and I wish the local Sheriffs would stand up for that as well (and refusing to illegally search, frisk and wiretap without warrants), not just for the 2nd amendment, but also the 4th and 5th and so on.

Let's compare that to the shock, and awe of our Iraq attack, or the soldier who went house to house killing women, and chlidren.

Number one though, is that Obama never deliberately attacked woment, and children with a drone attack. Obama has changed the face of war to cut down on killing women, and children.

This is a war on terror, and I for one am very pleased Obama has targeted Terrorists.

Being that I don't watch RT I can't speak to whether or not I feel it is propaganda.

I do however believe that it is important if something is propaganda. Something can be truthful, yet not tell the whole story and/or be presented, subtly or not, in a way to sway people away from the truth--true yet intellectually dishonest.

Take for instance the issue in this thread of whether or not Obama has kept his promises. Say one had created some hypothetical news network that had a mission to misinform people and turn them against democrats. Let's say that 100% of there extensive coverage on Obama was discussing the 22% of promises he broke. While truthful this would not be an "honest" representation of Obama's record on keeping promises. I am sure that no American would have the moral depravity to take part in such a deceptive news organization like that. However, such an organization would breed ignorance, spread hate, and be harmful to public discourse in America.

LOL ;) Alas, due to the dynamic you described, American perception of reality is bifurcating to such a degree that people live in polar opposite worlds. Even seemingly objective numbers, like % of promises kept or broken, are distorted by different lenses. Politifact spins promises broken into promises kept, while Faux News spins promises kept into promises broken. Perhaps it was always like that and we didn't see it before the WWW, which has enabled some people to see more broadly while others have dug deeper into their own silos.

I do watch RT occasionally and it can be interesting to see Putin's relentless critique of America. I wouldn't call it more objective necessarily but it comes from a different perspective and shows the elephant from a different angle. For example, they reported Romney's apparent voter fraud at a time when most American news outlets were shouting their usual binary narrative (Republicans saying voter fraud is committed by Democrats vs Democrats saying voter fraud doesn't happen).
