Just have housing on one level and offices on another.
... she studied psychology, then moved to Atlanta where she rented a townhouse for $1,050 a month.
She applied online to be a Google security guard...
Why don't tech companies just build housing into their office buildings. Just have housing on one level and offices on another.

Because they are not in apartment renting business, duh. Google pays VERY well. Go check Glassdoor or Blind if you don't believe me. IIRC median yearly pay there is north of $200K.
Is 200k enough there, I wouldn't take that?
San Francisco, part 2.
Hotels at negotiated rate of $150 per night x 30 per day = 4500 a month. Free breakfast, free room upkeep, some have free booze most evenings, etc. The suite hotels will shop for you and stock your refrig.
$180k/year = $15k per month, so your housing cost is about 1/3 of income. Fairly typical?

Is 200k enough there, I wouldn't take that? I have a friend at amazon turn down google, facebook, ect because of this exact thing. If the built mixed office/housing it would also cut down on traffic. Maybe they need to build up like the downtown of major cities use to be with commercial on bottom and residential on top.
The net income after being raped by rent/mortgage, child/health care, CA and SFBA taxes to pay for hobos shitting on your cars and in front of your door and uninsured illegals rampaging and pillaging through your hoods is surprisingly low.

Still far cry from these idiotic sob stories about "being unable to afford to live anywhere except in an old van by the river".
