That's true. There are some Chinese beggars in Chinatown in SF, but they are fairly rare even there. And I've never seen a Chinese guy begging elsewhere in SF, though there are plenty of Chinese around.
But I was checking out St. Gregory’s Episcopal Church (on DeHaro) in SF just for fun once, and there was a long line of Chinese out the door and down the block. Turns out it was "feed the poor" day, where anyone could ask for and get a big bag of food. I'm pretty certain a great deal of that food was then promptly sold by the recipients for a tidy profit. The Chinese are very practical and unsentimental people. They don't turn down anything offered for free, and don't give away anything for free. They must have thought the church was insane.
Lol, I wonder what the white liberal Episcopalians thought of it.

They move there for the free shit and then find out that a life spent as a worthless person is fucking miserable. I’d rather be living on the street in a third world nation than be a welfare bum in a first. At least then I’d have something to do all day: finding basic necessities. As a welfare bum even that much useful labor is taken away from you.
