I guess someone is missing this part. "The studio apartment in a 1930s block just of Brixton Hill is a bargain for the capital where even a parking space can go for three times as much." Yep, the value is in the land and the location. If you think real estate in America is expensive, you haven't seen nothing yet.
I can imagine the rats rummaging through at midnight. Oh wait, wealthy neighborhoods don't have rats do they? Just unicorns and chocolate ice cream. Land surrounding unicorns is worth millions.

Yes, if i were a chindian sweatshop owner, russian mafioso or arab oil sheikh with millionsof bernankebux to get rid of, i'd look to buy one of your or iwag's pieces of shit IN SOUTH SAN JOSE versus something in the heart of london.
When they kick out your front door
How you gonna come?
With your hands on your head
Or on the trigger of your gun
When the law break in
How you gonna go?
Shot down on the pavement
Or waiting in death row
You can crush us
You can bruise us
But you'll have to answer to
Oh, Guns of Brixton
....

In America we are not all crowded and piled up on top of each other. There are a few places, but for most part it's we are a fly over country with plenty of land.
