Mandatory drug test for Welfare recipients, and for State workers.

But get this, the children can still get "benefits" if they can find another adult to piss clean.

I'm going to lay down now, my head hurts.

There's California, then there's Florida, I sure hope America is still out there somewhere in the middle.

I'd love to see politicians forced to pee in a cup.

Probably more coke in there than a mountainside in Peru.

2   HousingWatcher   2011 Jun 1, 9:19am

The governor of Florida, Rick Scott, happens to own a drug testing company.

Geesh State what are you Three?

You don't find highly fucking Ironic that the Gubbermint Shitbirds would expect little 5 year old Tommy who's Mommy is a Crack head, to go next door to ask Mr. Wilson...

"Hey Mr. Wilson can you come down to the Welfare office with me, and Piss in a cup so I can get my "Entitlements"?"

4   elliemae   2011 Jun 2, 12:34am

I do love it when you're high, ten pound. You're not even close on this one, merely a knee-jerk reaction to a policy that many other states are adopting.

heavy sigh.

5   Done!   2011 Jun 2, 3:43am

Why do you "idolize" Keith Stone?

6   Done!   2011 Jun 2, 3:55am

"Sure"

If you are trying to get Republican talking points out of me, you're pissing in the wrong creek.
I'll just let you do all of the Demagoguing for me.

IOWs, you have to pass a drug test to qualify for a government drug treatment program

Ugh! My cousin and her husband work for the State of Florida as attorneys. They don't smoke pot. The only drugs they do are caffeine, alcohol, and my cousin takes whatever is prescribed to her for her RA (It's some injectable with scary side effects). This law also requires State employees to submit to drug testing. They aren't worried that they will be impacted negatively by results from drug testing. Both of them resent that the State will be invading their privacy through searches without warrants. Both of them wish that Rick Scott and all Florida lawmakers were required to pee in a cup because they are State employees too but somehow they are exempt from having to do so under this law. Both of them are of the opinion that this law will be shot down in court battles.

Meanwhile, Rick Scott has just made things worse for children who already suffer because one or both of their parents or guardians use drugs. "Family values" my ass.

But I bet they are all for testing the poor ass cretins less off than they are. And lack the legal prowess to do dick all about it.

You're making some huge assumptions about some people you've never met (nor heard of until 6/4/11 at 9:17am), ten ounce. But you seem to do that often these days. I must say that I'm impressed at your admitting that you believe people who accept welfare benefits are "poor ass cretins."

Angry much?

Actually, they aren't. They are horrified by this law and they don't like Rick Scott.

And they are sick at the abuse of power displayed by Rick Scott who has a major conflict of interest in this because he stands to make millions through "his wife's company" who is the sole provider of the testing suplies that will be used.

And, guess what? They're liberals. Both have been Public Defenders. I know one of them still is a Public Defender and the other supervises one branch of Public Defenders that the one isn't in.

And as State employees they make much less than private attorneys.

I'm not fond of him either.
But if he can get taxes and insurance down which collectively makes my $1400 Mortgage payment $600 more than it has to be. Then I'm all for that.

I'm not sure how making people piss in a cup will accomplish that. If his original intent is that he such a racist dipshit, that he is banking that the majority would fail and there for the State would save money by that statistic alone. Then that is pretty Chicken shit, he should just cut Welfare and stand by his assertion that he believes that they are all just Crack addled Alkys anyhow. At least I could respect that, even if I didn't agree with it. But what does testing State workers achieve unless again it's an underhanded way to cull the State payroll, with out stepping on toes or getting the affirmative action crowd riled up.

But I'm sure his piss factory stands to make a few bucks too in the process.

The Jury is out, but he does seem to be vested in self interest, and enacting policy Via underhanded policy he has on a hunch will accomplish his goals.

The aid recipients would be responsible for the cost of the screening, which they would recoup in their assistance if they qualify.

Mo' Money! Mo' Money! Mo' Money!

Those who fail the required drug testing may designate another individual to receive the benefits on behalf of their children, and do not receive a refund for the test.

Mo' Money!

Shortly after the bill was signed, five Democrats from the state's congressional delegation issued a joint statement attacking the legislation, one calling it "downright unconstitutional."

OH! I see, Poor Welfare recipients shouldn't suffer the indignity of pissing clean in a cup, lest it be "Downright Unconstitutional". But making the Middle Class pay $1400 perhaps $1900(by 2012) a MONTH, for health care regardless if they are healthy or not, and they are Mandated to do so anyhow. Is good legislation huh?

Like I said you Clowns, you can't do this shit with out the Middle Class. So excuse me, while I exhibit complacency over the Democrat plight to be a blight. Here let me route for the Republicans for a while. You guys can keep your PRINCIPALS straight!

I'm trying to understand you, but need assistance. I hope that you're working on that Google Translator app, which would be helpful for us if we could understand your stoned-speak. You said that you "exhibit complacency over the Democrat plight to be a blight." Please translate into conversational English.

You went on to say that you would like to "route" for the Republicans, so I'm assuming you are creating a road map which will perhaps allow them to drive somewhere. Please do share with us where you would like the Republicans to go, and why you feel the need to map their route.

Insofar as our Principals, with all of the cutbacks in the education system across the country, you are correct in your statement that we need to keep our "Principals" straight. Without them, who would run the schools and ensure that the teachers are doing their jobs?

16   marcus   2011 Jun 5, 4:11am

I'm as straight as the next hetero dude around here, but I don't have any prejudice against gay Principals. I've known of at least one very competent gay Principal.

Maybe he meant you guys "can't" keep your principals straight. That's probably true, but I doubt that the number of gay principals will ever exceed the percentage of gay people in the general population.

17   marcus   2011 Jun 5, 4:15am

If Tot is truly a programmer, all I can say is thank goodness it isn't the olden days where any tiny mistake in syntax would require one to repunch the cards before attempting to compile again. (this observation would be most relevant to anyone who did any fortran programming in school (or business) back in the 70s.)

I don't know, marcus. Is there a huge problem with Principals becoming gay? That would suck (pun intended), but from my understanding of homosexuality people don't suddenly turn gay or straight. If there were a veritable plethora of Principals coming out of the closet, I don't believe that it would be a problem for anyone other than their loved ones - but that would be personal and have nothing to do with the state of Florida requiring welfare recipients and state employees to undergo urinalysis tests.

Unless I'm missing something... Marcus, you're the school teacher & public employee. Is there a problem being covered up regarding this issue? I'm frightened.

Ellie, the Republican Roadmap is for less government, less intrusion into people's lives, libertarianism for Liberty.

These Republicans already have the roadmap:

You know, I worked for an ornery Southerner who came here in a job transfer from the South. Like your Floridian friend, he was also mad at the world.

Till he worked "out" who he really was inside. After he found himself, he was a very likeable person.

Maybe your Floridian Friend can find his way with these Republican friends.

20   elliemae   2011 Jun 5, 6:34am

Oh, sybrib, I don't doubt that the republicans have a road map, as do the dems and other political parties. My reply to ten ounce was an attempt to understand what he was trying to say. He makes less sense as time goes on - and the later in the day it is matters in this regard.

He probably meant "root" rather than "route" but I'm still waiting for his reply. He's angry about everyone & everything but has yet to formulate a sentence that indicates the object of his anger.

It's not about dems v repubs, or libs v conservos - it's about ten pound's incessant anger and his rantings directed at God knows what.

21   B.A.C.A.H.   2011 Jun 5, 6:35am

Ellie, I don't think you read the link.

Self-discovery can bring out the real person and drive out the anger.

And when it happens, there's that liberty-oriented Republican organization there to advocate for them in purusit of Big Government staying out of peoples' lives.

You're right - I didn't read your link. We're having two different conversations here. It's not that I'm not interested in reading your link - I'm simply discussing tenpoundbass's inability to formulate coherent thoughts. I'm not trying to be mean, but he's not making sense any more.

23   B.A.C.A.H.   2011 Jun 5, 7:19am

It is because anger can in-coherent people.

24   elliemae   2011 Jun 5, 7:25am

...and I shall read your link, later. I'm in the middle of writing a chapter of a book and don't want to be side-tracked by actual smart-people stuff. ;)

25   B.A.C.A.H.   2011 Jun 5, 7:27am

Don't bother.

The Log Cabin Republicans advocate for individual liberties. Like, being Gay and Republican.

I have seen such incoherent anger "go out" of a southerner when the person inside "came out".

26   elliemae   2011 Jun 5, 8:26am

Wow, and I'm writing about a summer sausage that found its way inside a guy's ass.
