Anyone here on Patrick.net who has read 1984 will recognize the pattern. Article says hacked traffic cameras were used to build detailed “pattern of life” profiles, tracking movements, routines, and associations to enable a targeted strike. Orwell’s warning was simple: constant surveillance gives those in power the ability to know where you are and what you are doing at all times.
Here is what scares me a bit, this is not unique to Iran. United States has same widespread public cameras and private systems like doorbell cameras generating continuous surveillance. Guaranteed our intel agencies are spying on everyone. When that data can be collected and analyzed, the privacy implications are serious. They can do same to us one day. 1984 does not feel far away... but hey it sure made that Amazon delivery really convenient.
