Yes, yes. You can say that they already did that with Star Trek Discovery.

But Strange New Worlds hasn't been too bad. However, the Discovery woke producers have not been idle.

They have been making Star Trek Academy. Due for release in 2026.

For non-Trekkies: stop reading and move along. Don't bother getting into this conversation with what I am about to reveal below. Talking to you @WookieMan.

Here we go:

Below is a Jem'Hadar/Klingon Hybrid character in the new series.

FEMALE! <- and I say this with all the exasperation a Ferengi does with that word.

And a woke chunky one at that.

The Original Series was a bit woke, but it was also Shakespearian. That is, evil people do not have a reason for being evil the just are. Klingons were evil in every way, even untrustable by each other and actually had a philosopher who put them on the path to total evil. The Next Gen woke reformed Klingons into a good but adversarial culture. They thus needed a new evil, so the wokes brought in Ferenge as evil greedy capitalists. The worst though was what they did to the Mirror Terran Empire. They let it be defeated when they should have kept it going as all powerful and undefeated. After all, Sherlock Holmes could never defeat the evil Dr Moriarity and Hawaii Five-0 could never have McGarret actually capture Chinese spy Wo Fat.

The Xindi season went off the rails. The last season with its 3 episode mini-story arcs was the best part.

I'm still working on Season 2. I understand that the last episode with the cast of Star Trek : The Next Generation is the best episode
