Meh, I don’t have a problem with this. It’s not like they’re Chinese and boil dogs to death.

Keep in mind this is very similar to Jewish practices to handle meat. Also it has been claimed that if done correctly the animals immediately lose their consciousness. In the western world I think they use a quick bolt shot to the middle of the forehead with similar claims. Have not researched this. As mentioned above the Chinese boil their dogs, westerners eat frog legs and we have a lot of inhumane caging as well in the West. Not my main gripe with them, but I do oppose animal cruelty. It would be useful to see more medical research on these practices. Also note that most farmers in Europe would let you pick a juicy goose/turkey/chicken, then after you picked they would say excuse me for a minute, take it behind the shed and quickly strangle/snap/break their neck with both hands, at which point you'd hear a shriek.Yet they were closer to their animals than any urban soyboy protesting meat eaters in front of a whole foods. Hunting not exactly easy on the animals either. Complex subject imo.

That being said, I try to buy meat only from organic and humanely raising farmers, preferably local. No kosher, halal or other stuff. However I do enjoy the occasional Doner keba, gyro or kofta
