What about 'designed to fail' technologies doesn't everybody understand? Freezing and immobilizing the fools that buy into it is part of the plan.

The Swiss do have a reputation for being practical.

They probably realize that batteries aren't very efficient in the cold anyway.

Edit: I loved Switzerland and would love to go back someday.
