And Amtrak is cancelling much of it's larger Western Rail service since it relies heavily on Freight lines. Acela, sadly, is unaffected, sure would be nice for the urban profs in the Northeast Biden Voters to suffer a bit, they love the damn thing.

I thought they solved these monetary problems by using train conductor hookers:

Substitute cheap feline labor for striking workers.

This has been in the works for years. Ever since they implemented that new system that cut workers, increased hours, and created huge delays. These guys are burning out, it's strike or quit. And any strain on an already stressed system will have wide-ranging repercussions.

Leftists are PISSED about the Biden administration’s move to partner with evil RINOs to quash railroad workers hopes of living normal lives. Nope!
I anticipate a lot of coordinated sick-outs, sabotage, and half-adding it from seriously disgruntled workers. Democrats just denied them any sick days and chained them to their jobs with the force of federal law.

I've heard of some pretty insane incomes in these union jobs. Sure about that?

Rail workers get paid a shitload. At least for what they do. This isn't the 1800's where we got a bunch of Chinese slave labor to build the rail lines. You roll up in a $100k+ truck and do work you could teach a 4th grader to do. They have no accountability, they don't work with local municipalities regarding bridges or grade crossings. It can take 3-4 years just to get a crossing done. They don't follow federal laws for horn usage in towns.

We have about 5 family members that work for the railroads. One has a 20 acre farm with a pond in Ohio. They're really hurting... lol. All on their wages, no inheritance of any kind. I have no pity for rail workers. Go fucking work and stop being babies.

Railworkers don't build rail lines.

Nowadays, there's are now only TWO of them each handling trains three fucking miles long. And they don't get time of.

The main problem is that the rail bosses laid off a lot of them and when demand picked up they put the squeeze on those who are left.

I'll bet no one is going to be quitting no matter what the agreement ends up being.

I hope they modernize the train operation with technology to make their jobs easier, such as with sensors and other assisting technology.

Back in the day, the Rail industry was presented with a "modern" railway locomotive with just two operators on board. Think of the cost savings! This was, of course, until the Union Rep took a look during the tour. He said "You're going to need to add another seat, to accommodate the stoker/oiler."
Completely unnecessary, but must happen anyway.
Unions: Jobs maintained, no matter the cost to the corporation, shareholders, and customers. Progress be damned.
