I put up with a lot of bad calls by Trump, defended him. But this is too much.

I will still vote for him in 2024 if he is the Candidate, but now I prefer DeSantis.

We have a decent national level farm system working up for MAGA.

Both Lake and DeSantis are Presidential level material after Trump. Depending on the outcome of November, we may have Zeldin and Mastriano as contenders. Sadly, Noem can't be trusted because she cucked for Transgender Surgeries at Sioux Falls Hospitals and reneged on signing a total ban on men in Women's Sports at ALL state schools.

We're working a lot of state legislators into the system now, with School Board and County Officials behind them.

May not be optimal, but Cruz might replace the Turtle. Probably not Rand, he's better as a gadfly. McCarthy should be replaced in the House.

Feeling positive for the long term.

Yeah. the 'generational math' as far as GOP leadership future is aligned with MAGA and populism among both the base and 'traditional' Dems like minorities and married women.

More or less.

You jiggered my brain.

The generational math is bad for Dems in many ways. They're losing 2nd and esp. 3rd Gen Hispanics starting with Texas and Florida. Whingy White Liberal Women have one or none kids... Urban Professionals are the least likely to breed... Black Men are moving Republican...

I'm starting to think instead of a Race or Class war, we'll have a Gender War. Unmarried Pompous Urban Single Females and Welfare Black Women vs. almost everybody else.

Gov. Ron DeSantis wins massive re-election victory in Florida
DeSantis' historic 19-point victory comes amid widespread speculation that he may launch a 2024 presidential bid.
88   Tenpoundbass   2022 Nov 9, 6:22pm

The Establishment is desperately trying to goad him into a Presidential run. Where they know even if he wins, they can imperil him with bureaucratic, and judicial overreach.
They can't touch him in Florida. He has more authority to send the FDLE to Washington to arrest Merrick Garland for his crimes on Florida residents. By the way they conducted those unnecessary 3am home invasion arrests, for the CNN news cameras, for things that has precedentially been treated less severe than a misdemeanor.
Where as the Democrat commies and thugs in D.C. can't do squat to him, but take away funding. They want control of Florida and he's in the fucking way as our Governor.. He would be powerless for what the Establishment has in store for Florida, as the President. Andrew Gillum will have a political reresection and be the Governor in the Special election to replace him. Then that will be it for Florida.

I wouldn't vote for DeSantis, I don't vote for anyone that runs for election to flip his office for a better seat. If his intention is to run for President, then that means his next two years will be focused on that transition, and not conducting the Ron DeSantis brand of governing he did in his first term. It will make him a self pandering Asshole if he did that. He hasn't groomed any suitable successors. Miami and Broward are just starting to flip red, well Dade more so than Broward. But things are looking up. He needs to build upon that for the next four years as Governor. Focusing on his governorship. Then spend two years, after he's done here in 2026, and prepare for his 2028 Presidential run. That's the Ron DeSantis I want to vote for. Even if Trump doesn't run in 2024.

DeSantis can be the biggest fish in a smaller pond, or a little fish in a big pond. Unlike Trump, he has the capability to build his network over the next several years. A 2024 run would place him in the same position Trump was in 2017 - virulent deep-state opposition and gaslighting. He has a chance to build a loyal team that will serve him - not like Trump who had to settle for RINOs and traitors.

I have a brilliant Idea!

Let DeSantis continue the Florida cleanup for a couple more years and then appoint Trump to the governorship. That would free DeSantis to MAGA as the president.

Trump is better suited to be an eccentric governor than the leader of the free world, though he was the best damn leader of the free world since Ike.

Sadly so.

It's been a recurring lesson throughout my life that no one succeeds alone. I worked for a Wunderkind kind of guy who was getting big contracts at age 22 to build websites in Chicago for top companies there. It was much less amazing when I realized that his father was already pretty rich and well connected, and two of his first employees were similarly rich and well connected. Most of them were Jewish. I asked him the secret to his great success at a young age, and his answer was "It's who you know and who you blow." Typically crass, but not wrong. Hope he wasn't blowing anyone.

So Trump is not just Trump, but is a group of people who have been with him for a long time. Unfortunately, they were not with it or powerful enough to stop the Deep State from undermining him, or maybe were actively helping the Deep State (looking at Jared Kushner here).

And Elon is not just Elon. He was born rich (his father owned part of an emerald mine in South Africa) and he has collected rich allies along the way from starting Paypal, etc.

Sweden is Ron DeSantis’s trump card
The Florida Governor's Covid policy has been vindicated

On the 16th March 2020, Donald Trump entered the White House’s cramped press room. He stood at the podium and looked out over the assembled journalists who were sitting apart in the room, each divided by a couple of chairs.

“I’m glad to see that you’re practising social distancing, that looks very nice,” the President said. With him on the podium stood Anthony Fauci, Deborah Birx and others who had advised Trump on the measures he was about to announce: “very talented people,” he called them. “We’ve made the decision to further toughen the guidelines and blunt the infection now,” Trump said.

From that moment, the U.S. government recommended school closures. Citizens were also advised to avoid gatherings of more than 10 people and to wean themselves off pre-pandemic social habits. The strategy was summarised on a sign positioned behind the President: “15 days to slow the spread”.

We now know that those 15 days turned into months, then well over a year. The fear of reopening society deprived children and young adults of in-person education all around the world, perhaps hitting the U.S. most: at its peak, the closures affected at least 55.1 million students in 124,000 public schools across the country.

We also know that the actions taken by the Trump White House were heavily influenced by the infamous report from Imperial College London.

A month and a half after his press conference, Trump doubled down on his lockdown position. In a tweet on April 30, he wrote: “Sweden is paying heavily for its decision not to lock down… The United States made the correct decision!”

In Florida, however, Governor Ron DeSantis took a deeper interest in the Swedish policy of keeping schools open and resisting sweeping lockdowns. Later in the summer, he even hosted a three-hour roundtable with two Stanford scientists, Jay Bhattacharya and Michael Levitt, as well as Swedish epidemiologist Martin Kulldorff. According to official transcripts, the word ‘Sweden’ came up 21 times.

And so Sweden and Florida effectively became control groups in the massive experiment that the world had undertaken. The openness of both raised ire in U.S. and international media. Countless stories were written about the perceived irresponsibility of keeping beaches, sports and schools open.

Trump may have later reversed his positions on the Covid measures he advocated during those months, but the damage had already been done. Fauci had been elevated to near-divine status, the media became obsessed with case counts, and it proved almost impossible to reopen schools.

The race for the Republican nomination increasingly looks like it will be a duel between Trump and DeSantis, and their different positions on Covid lockdowns will likely be scrutinised by Republican primaries voters. As we now know, lockdowns had very little effect on the spread of the virus. Sweden’s excess death numbers during the pandemic were among the lowest in Europe, and lower than 43 U.S. states.

Instead, the lockdowns created a massive education gap among children, damaged their mental health, and, through resulting stimulus packages, stoked the inflation we’re now living through. It is striking that the two main contenders for their party’s nomination took such different approaches during such a crucial period. It will surely be difficult for Trump to run away from his tainted record.

I think Trump will have a hard time to garner enough support, should he fall short I hope he will endorse whomever beat him and get out of the way.
95   Ceffer   2022 Nov 17, 3:12pm

Strange thing, a pundit pointed out that Trump actually stated he was 'Commander in Chief' in his recent speech (I didn't hear that if he did), and his filing to run for Presidency did not specify 2024, and was allegedly for the United States Republic (implication being that the bankrupt and invalid US Corporation executive was not part of the deal).

Who knows, he may have partly done it so they couldn't arrest him (Presidential candidates courtesy) amongst other things.

Trump also had his gold fringed flags with the military eagle mount. They are the flags of military courts and military tribunals:
"Under martial law, you are presumed guilty until proven innocent.

The gold-fringed flag only stands inside military courts that sit in summary court martial proceedings against civilians and such courts are governed in part by local rules, but more especially by “The Manual of Courts Martial”, U.S., 1994 Ed., at Art. 99, (c)(1)(b), pg. IV-34, PIN 030567-0000, U.S. Government Printing Office, Wash. D.C. The details of the crimes that civilians can commit, that are classed as ‘Acts of War,’ cover 125 pages in the Manual of Courts Martial."

Unless, of course, Trump is incapacitated and there is no one else to do the job.

You can dislike this very real possibility all you want, but anybody who witnessed the leftoid lamestream media and their handlers and witnessed how well the commie left played this election knows that they will ramp up the pressure on Trump and trying to paint him as a loser. I would like for Trump to run and be successful, but it's not always possible, Trump made many mistakes in the past years and with the leftoid globalist marxists and the commie media you cannot make any. It's just reality. It's possible he will muscle through it, but in the case he doesn't make it there are other who could take his place. With all the cheating going on he basically will need each and every independent, plus maybe some leftoids leaving the plantation
100   mell   2022 Nov 17, 5:28pm

Trump/De Santis (unlikely to happen) or Trump/Lake would be good tickets. Besides De Santis, Youngkin could be a good contender as well. Maybe Rick Scott. Anybody else? Rand Paul would be great but civil, libertarian leaning conservatives often get eaten alive by the leftoids with their smear tactics.

I'd vote for that.

The good thing about Trump possibly getting a second term is that he can pick a competent VP this time. Traditionally, presidents have picked incompetent VP's like Biden. I think that's to mitigate the possibility of getting replaced by one's own VP.

I'd be cautious with DeSantis.

Look into his earlier history. Maybe he found some balls, but he was an Israeli firster ass licker at one point. I suspect he's just a politician trying to rise in ranks that has no real values or convictions. I would be happy to be incorrect.

Gov. De Santis: Liberals Who Buy Into Covid Ideology ‘Most Gullible People In the World’

Liberals who put masks and syringes as their Twitter profile and build their whole identity around conforming to Big Pharma propaganda have been sold a lie, according to Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis, who says “They lied to us about mRNA shots.”

“It was basically the current thing. People would put in their Twitter profile a mask and a syringe, and that was their identity. It was ridiculous,” said DeSantis. “I think you’ve seen ideology placed over data and evidence.”

“They lied to us about the mRNA shots. They said if you take it you will not get Covid. That is false. That is not true. And they continue to say, even now when the evidence is so overwhelming, not only is that not true, people who have multiple boosters, you are definitely at risk of getting it.”

“And then they will say something like, six weeks of masks will end Covid. So that’s what they claim. It doesn’t happen. And then what they’ll do is they will kind of move the goalposts and say ‘Well, only 95% wore it’, and they will kind of shift, because they never ever want to admit their ideology was incorrect.”

TALLAHASSEE, FLORIDA — One of Governor Ron DeSantis’ most vocal critics supports the state’s decision to reject the College Board’s AP African American Studies course for high schoolers. When asked his thoughts on the recent controversy, Leon County Commissioner Bill Proctor blasted the course as “trash,” according to Tallahassee Reports.

“There is grave concern about the tone and the tenor of leadership’s voice from the highest spaces in our state being hostile to teaching of African American history. Well frankly I’m against the College Board’s curriculum,” Proctor said.

“I think it’s trash. It’s not African American history. It is ideology,” he continued. “I’ve taught African American history, I’ve structured syllabuses for African American history. I am African American history. And talking about ‘queer’ and ‘feminism’ and all of that for the struggle for freedom and equality and justice has not been no tension with queerness and feminist thought at all.”
