Tipping is now considered racist, because miserable woke entitled Libtards don't ever get tips because of their shitty attitude

These days I step foot in a place, take one good look at the counter, and give myself 3 seconds to decide sit or dip.
Most often I dip the fuck on up out of there. People who give shitty service, and don't give a fuck and will fuck up your order, or molest your food, are easy to spot by now.

I am seeing am increase in places that are adding tip prompts at the point of sale. This is especially annoying when the place is self-service or at a counter.

Black people are the worst tippers followed by wealthy white people. But black people are horrific when it comes to tipping.

It's easy enough to zero those out.

Back when I did Carpet and got tips occassionally.

I never once expected a black person to tip. But they generally leave you to your work, and don't even look at it until you're done. They don't pick it apart and try to find fault. Though that was 25 years ago, I bet today these entitled black Karens probably look for faults everywhere then call up the store and accuse you of being racist, that's why the seams show.

How ever Canadians are hands down the worst tippers, they aggravate the shit out of you, request all kinds of extra work. like (Can you move this couch from down stairs to the upstairs sitting area) when putting the furniture back. Even after all of that, they never ever tip. They are also transparent assholes. Do shit like offer you a beer, then open their fridge in the Florida room, loaded with Becks, Heineken, and other premium beers, but then dig way in the back to give you a Black Label or Schaefers beer.. Offer you water, and you hear the tap run.

Jews the more they hassle you, the less likely they are to tip you. They will have you move all kind of shit, and go above and beyond what you are there to do. Then not tip you.. The jewish folks that never bother you, or marvel and watch you work.. They also want to feed you while you're there. They end up being the best tippers out of everyone.

The best tippers in the Universe is Old School New York Italians. I think they like to brag to each other over who tipped the most. They like to call you over for a shot of liquor when you're done. Then hand you the COD and ask you to count it. So they can see your expression when you realize there is $300 more than the COD.
6   Tenpoundbass   2023 Jun 9, 8:58am

Oh and to the best of my knowledge I don't think I ever once got a tip from a White household. But we generally leave the workers alone. If we think they did a shitty job, we don't tell them We'll tell the company and expect them to send someone else to make it right. If we're complaining, then the technician, really did a botched job and we no longer have confidence that they can make it right. We don't pick the job apart for the intent getting a discount off the COD.
Also if White people need you do something above your expected task, they will negotiate a set price to do it. .They don't just tell you "Hey can you do this, I'll take care of you!"

Which if you fall for that from anyone, "Taking care of you" generally means I'll make your time worth my while.

I like tipping someone who does something for me.
A guy at Michaels who does framing gave me some cardboard sleeves to ship my Japanese woodblock prints to NYC.

I asked how much and he said free, so I gave him some $ and said "buy lunch for yourself."
He's an adult polite guy who likely doesn't earn much framing pictures.

I hate the point of sale touchpad things asking for a tip, even if I am buying a coffee at the counter.

Once I gave a souvenir to a girl who worked at the Juno beach Dunkin; for months afterwards she gave me free drinks so I tipped her.

Back in the day (80's - 90's) you'd go into an Irish bar in NYC and just put money on the table. After the first few drinks, the (immigrant Irish) bartender would stop charging you. The quid pro quo is that you'd tip him the prices of the drinks you weren't charged. It worked out better because the drinks cost less in that they were pure tip as opposed to price + tip. And these lads knew how to properly pour and rest a pint o'Guinness before serving.

That's basically the barkeep stealing from his employer.

I always pay for trivialities like this in cash, AND I tip. I sometimes tell the barkeep "this is a gift, not a tip, but divide up the way you'd divide a tip" with sometimes a "fuck the government".
10   AmericanKulak   2023 Jun 9, 5:35pm

Tipping tipping? Or faux tipping?

I don't tip for take out - though all of a sudden there are now tip jars for pickup/takeout - unless the person goes beyond what's necessary.

Sure, at the deli or coffee shop, somebody does me right, drops some extra bacon on the sandwich or gives me a donut since it's going to be dumped and it's half hour to close, etc. I leave a buck, maybe two if it's a large order and they actually make the food/drink.

But now, they have tip jars set up at the pizzeria or hot dog place. Why would I tip somebody just for handing me the box and ringing me up? Now if I was at a pizzeria/restuarant and sat at the table and served, of course I tip at least 18% and 25% for good service.

Another one that's nuts is the new Hotel policy for room service. It was a buck a day before. Now maybe $2-3 is reasonable. $20 for a long weekend if they were Johnny on the spot and got you extra towels or a cot for your kid or whatever. A few times a year I get room service as in delivered meals I do the usual 18-25%.

But now hotels are pushing the 10-20% of room cost for housekeeping, which is insane. $40-60 for a three night stay at a 3 star hotel housekeeping as a tip?!? And they want you to tip daily... I've always left the tip on the last day.

Seems many service businesses are really just pushing labor costs directly onto the customer.

Be sure to keep the yearly total under $17,000. Wouldn't want one of those 85,000 newly minted IRS agents to give your bartender the Trump treatment.

Fuck the government. Anything over $17,000 I'll just say I spent on crack cocaine and getting 14 year old prostitutes, with Hunter Biden. That will make the assholes get stuffed.
13   Ceffer   2023 Jun 9, 6:53pm

KommieKunts get more than tips, they get Soros Fecal Impaction Bribes. Who needs tips when you have a subversive, demon worshipping sugar daddy rewarding your lowest common denominators of behavior. They're just too dense to realize that behavior that is rewarded in one depraved venue does not translate in a moral and ethical venue.

I live in an apartment. When I enter a repair order online, the repair technicians will arrive on the same or next day to do the repair. I give them $5 for every repair. They treat me very well. I don't think anyone on the property does this. I reckon these folks probably don't make a lot of money in exchange for free or subsidized housing.
19   WookieMan   2024 Feb 16, 8:46am

Tipping is a massively touchy subject. We over tip generally. It's how my wife got through college years by tips waitressing. Some don't realize you have themed nights like 25¢ wing night and the niggers (sorry, I can use that word though) put their change on the fucking table. It was usually Tuesday. She hated that shift. $3/hr and 25¢ tips. Fucking ass holes. It's why we're raising our nephew to not be a nigger.

Tipping is a tough topic. Margins are shit in the restaurant business. Take care of them though unless they sucked. We're 20% on average. Have done some big tips here and there above 50%. If you frequent an establishment, you'll also get better service in the future.

What I hate is when other people cover the bill and I have no clue what they tip. They cover the bill and don't tip at all. Get fucked. I've caught a few of those. Didn't say anything, but I ain't going out with you again or we split the bill.
20   casandra   2024 Feb 16, 10:44am

if tipping is racist and other countries don't do it, then why even add the racist tip to the bill. no tip at all; there, and no racism AT ALL! I'm on board.

There'a 30% button there?? Who in their right mind tips 30%, especially with the inflated prices out there?

Must be hoping the customer had too much to drink and presses that by accident.
23   Onvacation   2024 Feb 16, 8:06pm

Skied at Sugar Bowl today. We're cheap so my wife and I bring sandwiches and have a little picnic if it is nice enough.

Forgot drinks today so I went into the snack bar and grabbed one large Ice Tea, a cookie, and a small bag of chips; rung up $13.50. I try to hand the dude sitting at the register a $20.

He says, "We don't take cash, credit only."

I scan my visa and the screen asks if I want to give 0%, 10%, 20%, or "Other". I tap 0% and lay a $1 bill on the counter.

I don't usually tip at stores.
24   Onvacation   2024 Feb 16, 8:10pm

My standard tip for a sit-down restaurant is 20% +/-. If I am picking up a phone in order I leave a dollar or two.

Be really polite to people who make your food and always give them a token of your appreciation.
25   krc   2024 Feb 16, 11:15pm

I tip and do between 18-25% pre-tax (I notice that some receipts are applying a tip on the total including tax - so then I have to adjust)

But-
What are thoughts on tipping the full 20% on a bottle of wine? I do, but friends we go out with tip only 5-10% because it is just opening a bottle.
They view tipping on food as different on a bottle, and I understand there is some difference but the restaurant still has to store the bottle, etc...

And, I hate that tipping is spreading "everywhere" now - like any random coffee / sandwich / self serve qsr locations.
Not really sure what to do there. I remember the day when there was no tipping for a cup of coffee... you just picked it up and went.
My daughter worked at a large coffee chain for a summer and she said only about 10% of customers tipped... so maybe many are resistant to those screens
for tipping that make you press "none" to proceed.

Also, not sure what to do when I am in a city that has a "health care cost" line item or other such line items.

Pickup order - I will generally tip some amount 5-10%. But, be careful, some places include pickup surcharges/fees...

And, yeah, even if I get a terrible meal I don't complain. I just don't go back. Also, order quickly. Don't hem and haw and waste everyone's time.
LOL

No it's not. If you can't afford to pay the tip, you can't afford to eat out.

15% tip is mandatory, I even tip at fast food places, although I often tip below 15% because, well, they just put together a sandwhich or whatever, but if you are sitting down, and that food is being delivered to you, you treat the staff well, you tip at LEAST 15%, and you're polite. If the food was somehow fucked up, you can tell them, but be POLITE about it, explain how it could have been better, or whatever, NEVER express anger. Don't try to get anybody in trouble, don't act upset - you can just suggest how it might have been better, if you know how it could have been better.

If you order off the menu, which I often have, you can give feedback if it was good or bad, and they want to know, because if it was good, they will often put it on the menu, and if it was bad, it's your mistake, eat it, tip at least 15%, especially since you ordered off the menu. I've had a few things added to menus here and there. The chefs often like to experiment, and a good chef knows what they are doing.

The only time it's acceptable to NOT tip, is if you're NEVER COMING BACK and the service sucked.

Follow these rules, and you will not get food poisoning. If you think that somebody working a difficult low paid job won't spit in the food "because they might get fired", think again. I've worked these jobs when I was young, and I know what goes on. Everybody that works, deserves respect and tipping is part of that. Many servers get paid BELOW minimum wage as well, and if you're in a SMALL restaurant, and kids are serving you, it's generally because they work for free.
27   richwicks   2024 Feb 16, 11:36pm

casandra says

Other countries don't do it, because the servers are paid more, and in such countries, it's often illegal. Tipping is illegal at least at bars in Australia. I felt very out of place paying for beer and not leaving at least a dollar for each drink and had to have the bartender yell at me for leaving money behind before I knew.

The reason it's illegal, is that it's considered a bribe for stronger drinks, and as a result you cannot judge how intoxicated you are when you leave which increases your chances of driving over the limit.

Never tip at stores I wouldn't even leave the $1. At least here in IL I think servers get something like $4.50/hr. Same with hair dressers/cuts. You can't make a living without tips. if I get a good haircut I've tipped as much as 100%. I let my hair grow out and only get it cut 2-3 times a year. So maybe $200 extra on tips a year. A store clerk is at least earning minimum wage.

Food wise it just depends on the service. Generally do 20%. If service sucks I will give 0%. If it's great I'll give up to 50%. Being able to sit on my ass and have people work for me is a luxury. If no one tipped, you wouldn't have people to serve you when you went out to a restaurant. They make shit hourly. So no one would do it.

I've found countries that pay a living wage serving, the service is trash. So I don't mind the tipping model to be honest. Also cannot believe my previous comment got a dislike. Someone is obviously on their period. Get over it Karen....
29   Tenpoundbass   2024 Feb 17, 8:58am

Tip based compensation is wrong in this day and age. There should be set table service fees.
Tip dependent workers keep getting a raise, every time Biden blows up a Meat packing plant, a 2 million flock of food chickens, culls 100K meat cattle, and burns down produce distributor facilities. Their wages goes up when that dozen eggs double. A $3.99 breakfast from 2020, is now $12.00. Did you get a 300% raise since Joe Brandon came in office?
